I remember the days v Leeds when you would go to a fight , and a football match would break out. I also remember the bloody battle of Leeds road in the early 70s friendly match when there were over 500 arrests , and that would have been well over a thousand had the police resources not been stretched to full capacity . Todays sets of fans seem far more civilised , and that off field bitter rivalry between the clubs seems to be made far worse by the media hype which creates police overtime. I feel the hooligan element have become more aware of the consequences if being caught causing disorder at football matches , and realised its certainly not worth a prison sentence.

For those that are season ticket holders I the south Kilner bank i suggest you go back and read your T&C that came with your season card, also read the club webpage that was used to advertise for this seasons cards and especially read the section on this seasons new arrangement, where if the club chooses to give the south Kilner bank section to away fans you have no option but to move and no come back at the club. We've read it ffs. It made me think about not renewing for the first time in 35 years. Realistically this season it isn't going to happen as the fixtures fall. Example Leicester a couple a seasons ago. Us nothing to play for them promotion party. Let's cash in agreed. But when we the home team require points why would you give an advantage to the away team & be outsung. You could argue a big cup game but all the so called Town fans would turn out for that anyway. Which is good & on the back of a good experience they may return? Get the the entertainment, desire & success on the pitch crowds will return.

I understand what you're saying but ultimately we have a ground that's too big for us and we're losing a shit load of money every year. We all want success but we aren't getting the crowds to assemble a team that can compete in this league - we need as many people in the ground every game to do that. Ground has always been too big but don't remember having to vacate the Cowshed ( unless chased out, I was only a young teenager ). The fact is that those asked to vacate their seats are sat in the most densely populated area of the ground which by my reckoning makes it the most popular, so antagonise the majority instead of the minority. You could lose a shitload more money by upsetting the regulars. If pampering to some away fans is the way to go then so be it. Its abit like renting a Porsche from a car hire company and getting their one day to be told Im sorry sir its the reliant robin today as we have some new customers who will only use us once but we know we can bend you over. Pompey had the Cowshed on 85, same day as the fire at Bradford.

It's not "same stand", its " comparable stand". I think they declare South Stand is equivalent to Kilner, although in reality it should perhaps be cheaper due to uncovered concourse / concessions area. If we're nitpicking, you missed an apostrophe in your second "its" . Good!

What I did find disturbing last season v Leeds was the fact that a bunch of Leeds supporters mentioned to me on the train home that they bought their tickets from Town fans. I noticed when Leeds scored their second goal that they had supporters in parts of the town sections of the ground which included the N S where there were nearly big problems after the match when they started spouting off..

Why though? It's one game. The club need the brass, why not cash in. Would 15/20k make any real difference ? Every pound counts.

I've heard this said a few times and just to clear this up, it wasn't really as bigger deal as people made out. Behind the north stand lower tier is the players lounge and this had players families in. Some Leeds players families were in there and we're celebrating when they scored both their goals. A few town fans gave a few gestures but that's as far as it went. It never went beyond 20 town fans giving V's to the Leeds players families (two big lads in particular) after they banged on the glass when they scored. The moronic of abuse directed at Sean Jarvis after that game was ridiculous.

Why though? It's one game. The club need the brass, why not cash in. Here we go again giving the opposition an advantage. I think we just got right now with half the South stand & let's see with the Derby Leeds & Boro games were I'm predicting full vocals from the Riverside & the Kilner. This negative pre season talk of giving up seats, matchday pricing has effected attendances. Positive results & pricing in these games mentioned will have fans steadily flowing back. Now fuck off out of our Kilner bank 7k Leeds fans isn't giving them an advantage because town will still have more. I have to move out of the south stand, I knew that before I got my SC, you knew you had to move when you got yours if the time came. The Kilner bank is the official away stand, we've just become used to the south stand being for away fans. One day, that Kilner bank will be used for away fans. I'm absolutely sure of it.

Have Middlesbrough not been allocated the south end of the Kilner? There's only 4-5 clubs maximum who will bring more than 4000 and I thought it was agreed that when required we would be giving the extra allocation to those who will? I take it you do not sit in this stand. Id be more than pissed off giving up my seat for those bellends or any others for that matter. Does your seat have your name on it?

Not according to DH. He stated at his last Q+A that it was WYP who wouldn't allow it. And for what it's worth, I'd give Leeds 7k tickets and fill the stadium. The police don't have any basis in law for preventing 7000 Leeds fans coming to a match in Huddersfield. Likewise they have no power to enforce kick off time changes. Blaming police on such matters is weak. No it isn't when it's the fact of the matter.

Blaming police on such matters is weak. Take it up with Dean then. They are his words not mine. Can you explain the hull situation then? Was that town who wanted all the fuck about a few seasons ago? Taken from the review of the game, this is taken from the document issued by Northumbria Police "Huddersfield were due to play Hull in Huddersfield on Saturday 30 March 2013. The match was scheduled to kick off at lunch time but due to Sky’s decision to televise it live West Yorkshire Police were approached to agree a kick off time at 17:20. This was agreeable to West Yorkshire Police provided certain conditions were agreed to mitigate the associated risks due to the change in kick off time. Two of these conditions were: limiting the number of tickets available to Hull City fans and that they travel on official coaches to the match" www.westyorkshire.police.uk/sites/default/files/files/news/category/news-type/releases/peer_review_hudd_v_hull_and_wyp_responses.pdf

The South stand initiative this season is working & movement to the Riverside when capacity away followings descend is a good move. Credit to all that have located in to that stand. But don't sacrifice Town / home support to accommodate another team support for the sake of a few quid.

The club have already gone back on match day increase / transfer fees. And suddenly all these offers? A total Marketing preseason cock up.

But they did plenty of offers last season and this has nothing to do with an away team getting an extra allocation in the Kilner.
