It amazes me that nobody in the Premier League has taken a chance on Rhodes.
Well done to Huws though for getting on the short list, although I'd have put Whitehead ahead of him.

Entirely down to price. Gestede who arguably had a better season last year went for 6m. Blackburn won't sell Rhodes for less than what they bought him for.

Hull offered more and were turned down. Showing it's price. You'll need a lot of money to take him. Not sure what Blackburn would take but given that they paid £8 million for effectively a league one striker at the time and then he's gone on to score more goals in the Championship than any other player in the last three years you'd think somebody might have taken a gamble on him, particularly in these days of hugely inflated prices. To somebody like Sunderland or Newcastle he could be the difference between them staying up or going down.

Personally think he'd be brilliant in the Premier League. The difference in quality of defender against him would be balanced by the quality of the service to him.

If you watch him he creates space for others, lays the ball off well and is a far better footballer than he's sometimes given credit for.

Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards Doesn't matter if he scores goals, people seem to have become obsessed with strikers who can offer more outside the box. Rhodes could be the difference between a team like Sunderland or Villa staying up, instead they persist with players like Agbonlahor and Fletcher who are perceived to do a lot outside the box but have dreadful goal scoring records. Can see him going in January.

When he was at Town I bored my son senseless telling him to forget about the goals Rhodes scores but watch what he does without the ball and where he puts himself. Poor comparison but Lee Chapman used to score for fun for Scum and Rhodes is far superior to him. Some people just have that knack.

Perhaps the football professionals who watch players week in, week out, see something that you don't? Or perhaps it's just down to money. b - Huws goals were eye catching, and he is a good and promising young player, but he wasn't Town's player of the month, let alone The Championship's. I agree with you on Whitehead.

As for the Holmes thing, give it a rest!

Rhodes or Stewart, which would you choose for our team right now? I'd take Stewy.

I'd be happy with either but if I had to choose one, it'd be Rhodes.

I think JR would do great in the Premier League as long as he got some service however he only has himself to blame for not being there already. He has signed at least 2 improved contracts that I know of since moving there. Makes him more expensive to buy. If he really wants a move all he has to do is let his contract run down and someone will snap him up.

Even if Blackburn want, say £15m for Rhodes I can't understand why Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool thought Balotelli was a better option, indeed "Pubic" Ayre wasn't impressed either. And don't come in with the "Premier League experience" crap because Mario hardly set the world on fire at any point (he set his bathroom curtains on fire though!).
Then again, look at Strachan: a must-win game so does he go with the man who's scored 7 in 8 this season and a minimum of 20 for the last SIX seasons... Or the man who scored 2 in 10 for Blunderland? The latter of course... What a short-arsed bell-end!
