Far too much trying to walk the ball into the net zzzzzzzzzzzz
At least when Vardy came on he showed us that sometimes its just about pace and power.

Englandfans sent me details of tickets for a game v Spain soon, i did not even know they were playing. "England til' i die" does not help. The fact that England no longer exists either, except as England.com or .Inc is a factor. Yawnfest.

I hear the England team have a special deal with ITV. The ITV DVD's they get sent for their de-brief sessions are specially dubbed with 90 mins of various childrens shows instead of Tyldsley, mainly the bananas in pyjamas theme tune & the chuckle brothers...
He came out with 2 belters tonight - a snippet that I missed most of but ended with... "whilst he was Mgr of Sligo Rovers" and talking (I think) about the Estonia Mgr playing for an hour for Bradford C under Chris Kamara (who he incidentally mentioned was in the crowd, buffoon probably even knew which seat he was in...)
Aside of the above it was the usual uninspiring stuff from England. Not sure if it's the fact we've qualified a while back & it was another dead rubber?? I can't help thinking the tepid approach we seem to have doesn't instil the ruthless streak you need to win tournament football & this is ably aided and abetted by the fact our PL has a massive influence on the players attitudes & making sure they avoid injuries... Surprised I only fell asleep the once...

Sterling and Kane were poor. Sterling in particular did absolutely nothing until his tap in.
Don't know why we didn't go 4-4-2 2nd half. Thought we were going to at both subs but decided to play Ox in the middle then Vardy on the wing.
Barkley MOTM by a country mile. Walcott did ok, some good movement first half. Back 5 little to do.

Is Adam Lallana Glen Hoddle's love child? He has some decent touches occasionally but invariably gives the ball away, however Hoddle thinks the sun shines out of his arse.

England will fail as soon as they face a tier one side in a major game. They will be out passed and outclassed and will be cut to ribbons defensively. Even the old build expectations to be dashed later is old hat now.
We used to have quality players, then we had a few quality players and a lot of fight, nowadays we have very average players who just go through the motions. We also have gone backwards with managers with the current incumbent he most inept yet.

I don't quite understand the anemosity! We can only beat what is put in front of us, which we have...convincingly. Even the current world champions have lost 2 games whilst failing to beat Ireland home or away.
Spain have lost a game and Holland might not even qualify for the play offs!
It's so cool to be anti English nowadays and to call us shit when in reality we have done better than every single decent European side in qualifying including a great away victory against a solid Switzerland.

I certainly wasn't bothered about watching the game last night, and its been a good few years since I felt anything like passionate about England. However, if you offered me another 5 years in the Championship for Town at the cost of England not even qualifying for (say) the next 4 tournaments I would take it without hesitation. Town are in my blood and my heart, England, well I support them "because I'm English", although I am a quarter Welsh and a quarter Irish, which will help to spread my allegiance a bit in France. But always UTT

It's just a rebalancing to where we SHOULD be as an international force with our population and wealth. And realistically, that's a country that qualifies for most (but not all) Euro and World Cup finals but anything beyond a group stage at a finals is over achievement. Over the last 20 years or so we mostly do what could be realistically expected. Just the press write it off as massive failure and we end up in a terrible cycle.

I'm well aware of England's failures, doesn't mean that I support them less and less as we continue to win nothing. Just as it is with town.

Perspective should be drawn from International team's performances far and wide, rather than on individual players and their salaries alone.
England are the only team to win up in qualifying, which is impressive however you look at it.
Will we win it? Doubt it. But that is hardly underachieving.
We haven't looked like losing, or even conceding many goals, something that to me is a huge change for England.IMO We are close to doing well.
We do at least as well as we should do 9 times out of 10. Our problem is that we've not had that extra bit required to win it. The bit can be luck or genius, but either way it's not been near us since '66. 2002 epitomizes it; David "can't jump' Seaman.

The players don't really care these days though do they? Years of failure and negative press and the strength of the premier league and champions league has made playing for England at worst a bind and at best 3rd priority.

Sorry but beating Switzerland and Slovenia and other minnows isn't really impressive. In fact what England needed was a really tough qualifying group not what they had. This campaign doesn't prepare them at all for facing any tier one sides and like recent tournaments we'll be surprised how good they are and fail. Why even is Hodgson still in the job after that debacle in the last World Cup. The team was utterly inept in all areas of the field.

I don't think its cool to down England but it is way past time that England produced some kind of form in a Championship. We almost always qualify with ease while some of the more fancied sides have a trickier time. The press then builds the team up to be potential World beaters, but when it comes to the Finals we do not perform while the likes of Germany do. The last time I was genuinely excited about our prospects was when Terry Venables was in charge.

I thought the crowd was really poor last night! Estonia came to park the bus, but the crowd offered nothing, so everything seemed flat! England did what they had to do and won the game, but it's time the FA took England around the grounds instead of every game being at boring Wembley!

Unfortunatey 'boring Wembley' needs all the revenue it can get to remain viable. Going round the grounds would be brilliant, but I can't see it happening.
