Canalside is a great facility and has clearly cost a fortune to upgrade both inside and out. Why then are the driveway and the car-parks in such a poor condition? When it's wet there are several areas that accumulate deep puddles. The upper car park and the overspill one are in very poor condition. Today the driveway now has a deep hole in it that has a cone in front of it. I wonder what plans are in place to sort all these issues out? I was expecting it to be done over the summer but it wasn't and it's going to get worse as the winter sets in.

Could be something to raise at the Millbridge meeting tonight if you can get there?

Hasn't planning gone in to widen the driveway? Assume there is no point finishing the car park or repairing anything if that the plan.

could do what they do on the roads..?
close it off for a month with faulty traffic lights in place causing fucking mayhem..
get a shedload of blokes and vans and cones to attend, fuck about for days on end mixing a bit of tar and then fill it in so its like Mount Everest for a month before it all comes out again and so it continues?
The signs on motorway road works make me smile though..
'please take care through roadworks my dad works here'??
should be;;
'please take care through unneccessary lane closures and narrowing with silly speed limits, because my dad will be mooching about somewhere with a hi vis vest on , fucking about and doing as little as humanly possible'...?
more blokes than spades??

waiting for planning and also likely to be waiting for the utility companies to confirm they have no works planned straight after the tarmac is smoothed off ...as normally happens by these privatised and supposedly more efficient organisations..

It's got nowt to do with privatisation, but everything to do with typical British muddling and incompetence. Galpharm is spot on with his observations.

Maybe part of the planning was to keep the development in keeping with the local area so to that end they had to ensure the roads were knackered and full of deep potholes ?

The whole project has taken some considerable time and if you ever visited just after DH bought it, you will see that they have spent a fortune on it. The playing surfaces alone cost a fortune. Each area of capital expenditure needs to be properly authorised and in the full scheme of things when you take into account what has been done this is really something minor. There are many other things that need doing as well as the roadways and parking AND IN TIME I am sure they will happen but really think that this is just pedantic

It's the first impression any visitors would make. Have you driven your car over the potholes? Have you walked down the driveway when a car goes over a deep puddle as you are alongside? It's not being pedantic as it has real impact on Canalside users.

most of them look like they stopped reading after the words 'Jack and Jill'.... what job do you do? run my own business..but spent 22 years being 'dangerous and in danger' before that.... btw, the roads and repairs and upgrading thereof is badly run, badly organised and not cost effective. top to bottom are to blame... we just have to 'lump it' for now.. Its not defendable and to their credit the highways people dont make any excuses for being crap... shoulder shrugging appears to be their considered reply to critique..
