I was at the Civic reception, courtesy of my Town supporting wife who knew the Mayor of the day (Jack Wood).
It was great looking down at the massed throng of fans from the balcony, with a free bar and food.
A fantastic night and season.

Would love to have been able to attend this. Unfortunately for me I didn't see a single game that season as I was living in the States at that time and didn't come over. Typical! What a season to miss. I'll never forget going to the store one Sunday to pick up the Philadelphia Enquirer and saw that Town had beaten Port Vale 7-1. Just seen the comments about Dave Sutton. Great lad and a good captain. Apparently he runs his own garden centre near Southport, called Sooty's. Without even checking...i think their captain, Delgado, scored an own goal. It could have been a dozen that day we were so dominant.

What a fantastic night. The change from what happened at Town under Tom Johnson to the regime of Mick Buxton is similar to what is happening under Wagner. Lots of hard work in training and an ethos that the whole squad are the first team. Legends every one.

Followed by Micky Buxton's barmy army... Great night. Great players. Great memories.
