I got knocked down by an XR3 at the Bay Horse roundabout in 1988. Walked 2 miles on a broken ankle and had to get a lift all the way back to the hospital in the morning when it was the size of a bowling ball. Hope it wasn't Nick that knocked you down mate. No teddy , Thats what few on here wud like to do to me though, very childish.

Bet that still bad in cold weather. No, never had a problem with it mate. Double fracture. I still have a scar at the top of my foot though where I lost a bit of skin. I saw the car coming but he obviously didn't see me. He didn't even stop for the roundabout. He'd come tearing straight out of the Bay Horse car park at closing time. As I knew the car was going to hit me I jumped as high as I could, hit the windscreen and kind of rolled off the side of the roof. Ankle either got hit by the car or it was on landing. He did stop eventually (pretty much in Marsh) and came back and gave me a lift to the bus station. Walked from Thongsbridge to the Sycamore on it, left a note for my Dad saying that it didn't feel right and I may need a lift in the morning, took 2 Paracetamol and went to bed.

Hope it wasn't Nick that knocked you down mate. Let's face it, nearly everyone drove a black XR3i in 1988.

I had a Ford Ka as a rental car when we had ours stolen. I thought it was a cracking little motor.
Had a 1 litre Fiesta back in the day. 10 years and all it needed were tyres and a battery. Superb little motors. Go anywhere on a tenners worth of petrol.

Think my last MOT would have been nearly a grand. Wasn't worth the repairs as the car wasn't worth that much.

Lived 100 yards from it for 10 years with the first Mrs Gledholt, knew loads who went in, but still walked a lot further for the Fleece and Bull every time (80s).

I found it of interest cheers Nick, can't be arsed rooting through that long thread but I was interested to see how Smithies was getting on at QPR so gave this one a read, it's the only news I've found on here worth reading today to be honest, bit quiet so this little story was just the job. Just me then If it's as shit as everyone says it will soon slip of the page anyway so nobody else has to be outraged. Lol Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards Went to look at a QPR fans forum, really starting to warm to him now, with 2 clean sheets and only a double deflection beat him at Wolves.
