A bit more news on the £179 season card offer, its for the first 10,000 to take up the offerThat would be a ridiculous idea!!! Its similar to the ridiculous idea that its more to pay on the day!!! Unless that is extended due to sensational demand, they should put that straight back in the locker, unless it only goes up by say only £20 afterwards to 199. It's not that ridiculous really is it? Read what twang has posted.... When Dean sees the response to 10,000 the board will decide whether to extend the offer The pay on the day will always be more than what a season card works out at per game. Otherwise it defeats the point of a season card. At under a tenner per game on a season card I suspect the pay on the day prices would be about £20.

They might still charge higher for category A games. If that is the case then someone who only chooses to come to the more attractive games may be tempted to buy one.

I'm not sure our Cat A games are apart from Leeds which will be bring a mate for £20 which has got us nearly 20k in the past so it does work. Town really need to scrap categories and keep it simple.

£179 ? Wow !
That means the club loses approx £250 for each existing and committed SC holder..that's about £2m .
BUT, if they can get another 2,000 they gain back £0.5m, but would need 11,000 more to sign up to break even on the £2m.
Dean has broken the mold with these prices, and the fact they are the same in any stand is perfect.
I hope this makes the national media take notice ..it deserves al the plaudits it can get. I can't even moan about the loss of our seniors discount at these prices ....

The increase in TV money makes it more affordable for clubs to make it cheaper for the fans. This won't happen with most clubs as they can sell out for every game despite the extortionate prices. The prices that Toiwn are charging are comparable to season ticket prices lower down the pyramid. Bradford Park Avenue charged £180 after early bird prices.

Surely the main quibble about walk up prices being too expensive from the pay on the day folk and the idea by some season card holders that all the promotions make pay on the day cheaper can now be resolved. Charge £10 - £15 per game on the day for most games.

Great news. Now reduce pay on the day for adults to £15 to get even more supporters into the ground.

I seem to remember reading that we get an extra £4m next year, and that is going to be used to off-set the losses on the season cards. They need to follow it up with a few billboards around town and promos at the university so that everyone around town knows about the offer. Relying on the Examiner, Town's social media accounts and this website is just preaching to the converted.

If true, brilliant. Even if it's for the first 10k that take up the offer it's still good if you think about it as youngsters won't pay that, so by the time we get 10k of the £179 tickets sold it may be 12-13k that we've sold in total. I'll certainly be getting one. With £200 tickets you'd basically get about 12-13 games free, so if it is £179 then it's maybe around 14 free.
I also agree about PL clubs in particular reducing prices. No reason for them not to, as even small teams will earn more next season in the PL just from TV money than some of the biggest teams in Europe who play in the Champions League. Worth noting that Liverpool with their new stand next season are saying "hey, lots of our prices will be lower for season tickets and for matchday tickets" which is true, but only cheaper by a few pounds, whereas they have quite a lot of increases which are actually far more than the decreases (eg increases of maybe £20 a game in some areas compared to a reduction of maybe £0.43 in others)

Relying on the Examiner, Town's social media accounts and this website is just preaching to the converted. Agree, they need to advertise it like there's no tomorrow. Local radio, local TV if possible, local businesses, local papers, billboards, posters, literally scream about the offer from the rooftops. It'll only truly work if they put as much money and effort as possible into advertising it over a long period of time.

You could get a lot of coverage in a town like Huddersfield for twenty grand a month. You could get tens of thousands of leaflets for a couple of grand, get a crew to punt them around town on a Saturday afternoon and they should be getting snapped up, especially if the interest free finance offer is still on.

Really hope all this stuff about cheap season tickets is true. Our crowds have suffered badly recently, and in my opinion ticket pricing has played a massive part in this.
It would be great if we could be one of the clubs that supports this 'supporters not customers' campaign. To be fair to Bradford, they've done a great job with their ticket pricing and have been getting large crowds.
The club really need to push this.

I wouldn't announce matchday prices until just before the season starts, but tell people it will be considerably more expensive. Even at £179 some folk won't buy if they know well in advance that it'll only be £15/£20 on matchdays.

£179 Fantastic, Now for everyone moaning about footy and the transfer fees that Hoyle is pocketing, Just take note that at these prices not only is Dean getting new players in, Signed a fantastic Manager in DW, He is now in theory giving every single fan who buys a season ticket some of that transfer kitty by reducing the price, Please please please if this is true buy a ticket and get down and support, Brilliant Dean WELL DONE Sir.

if this is true, them im haveing one straigtaway, and if we dont get around another 16,000 then if i were dean hoyle i would walk.as town wont deserve championship football. get behind the lads you bunch of moaning bastards!!! is this any particular set of moaning bastards or the set that we all would like to have coming to the stadium regularly?? I think the club would do well to follow your brand of encouragement to them and see it bringing them in, in 'bastard droves'... please remember that £179 to watch a team that is always around 16th/19th still isnt going to get the response that you feel it should.. 'what more can the club do' ?? you may well ask.. be more successfull will be the answer.. you can certainly sell a better style of football to more people but only once its had some obvious and tangible success, us feeling a bit better about it wont crack that on its own..

You would like to think we could shift 15 or 16000 at those prices you would certainly hope so. being a bit on the old and feeble minded side of life (as well as lazy), any of you clearer minded folk recall roughly how many season tickets were sold the year Dean set them at £100 ? just curious for comparison sake. fully behind this step, and if it all comes together as is being suggested, what we the fans should do is first of course buy as many seasons tickets as we can reasonable afford, and then second, in contrast to the poor Liverpool fans looking at staging a walk out in protest at ticket prices, we should get a happy clappy type fan WALK IN organised to say thank you.

why £179 though, why not £178.63.? ..£179 seems to be a random number ..£7.7826 per game....Why not £184 then it's a straight £8.00 a game ??
just asking ..
