Reads like he was pushed, rather than leaving for another role.

Reads like he was pushed, rather than leaving for another role. For the right reasons. His own downfall.

I hope this thread doesn't become a schadenfreude fest.
Whatever the reasons, thanks NC – an important cog in the turnaround of this club that made so many proud again.

Nick is scurrying behind the scenes to start an ex CEO sticky thread

Cue a classic Datm thread with copious cockamamy conspiracy theories about Clibbens's departure.
Is he Marcus?

Presumably pushed as you'd normally expect an announcement to say where he was going unless is to another club. Has there been any potential fall out from the January transfer window (pure guesswork by the way)?
If it is to another club then I'd expect Clibbo would be on gardening leave and there to be a future announcement to confirm. Interesting!
I wonder how that will impact the day to day running of the club?

Yup, definitely reads as tho' he was shown the door, rather than it being his decision. So, I would like to put on record, my thanks for all his hard work and effort during his tenure. I wish him all the best for the future. However I still can't think of him without his appearance in Danny's awards video popping into my head

wow,,always seemed a decent bloke to me Me too. Had a couple of chats with him - seemed alright. Doubt he was pushed as surely DH would have a new CEO lined up rather than embarking on a search?

Good luck Nigel. Thanks for your hard work. This ^^ Don't forget that Dean brought in Clibbens to sort out the financial mess that was Huddersfield Town. He said that he needed a "Forensic Accountant" to try and find out the true picture. Irrespective of our current losses and what we are into Deano for the Board of Directors (and us fans to some extent) do know exactly where we now are financially.

Might appear all nice on the outside but he really wasn't. Walking PR disaster. Found it hard to have much of an opinion either way on him. What made him so awful? What am I missing? The only thing I can really think of was some high ticket prices, or saying they were price inelastic, which is hardly what he should be saying about fans, but has been proven accurate with the amount we got in for the £10 games.

I don't wish him any bad luck, I don't dislike the man. He's done what he was asked to do, Town want to progress and may feel a change is needed to progress further as a club. That's football, that's life. OR You could say this is typical Dean Hoyle cutting wages, asset stripping an generally stealing money from the fans. #hoyleout

Never met the guy and no doubt I wouldn't agree with everything he implemented/tried etc... but he's been a leading figure in a very good era for this club thats seen us transformed from the club he first arrived at. So best wishes to the bloke.
