Just flicked sky sports 2 on to check rugby score, Wigan v Catalans. The pitch is a right mess, the egg keeps slipping all over the place. Centre of field is just mud. Hope the ground staff can keep the John Smiths grass lush or else Wagner will have something to deal with that I'm pretty sure he wont be used to.

Football does more damage to the pitch then rugby league. So says our ground staff anyway.
Pitch looks horrific but I doubt a half hour of rugby league has caused that mess at DW.

Get back under your bridge and ignore us then. It's YOU that's trolling, Numbnuts! Ooo name calling. I was just seeing if anyone else was watching the game, had comments to make, or knew anything I didn't. However despite you having it seems very little interest in the topic you wish to police the threads damning any that go against your opinions, views or interests. Sometimes I see a thread I have no interest in, so I don't spend my time on it. It was a bit of a shit thread, but a quiet Friday night mixed with the tiring of the talk of lack of signings and the love of Chilwell made me wonder if there was something else to talk about. Again I apologise and bow down to your masterful knowledge of threads. It is becoming more and more evident why others left to a new forum. Ill be signing off now before the thread police return.

Another 6 pages of regurgitated nonsense Get back under your bridge and ignore us then. Under my bridge FFS. I'm no Giants fan, or RL for that matter. Can take it or leave it. But to think that they ruin the pitch ?? It's dragged out every year, and every year it gets more monotonous. As has been pointed out earlier in the thread, ask the groundstaff. I have a sneaking feeling they MIGHT know more than you. And I can see that from under my bridge

I'm also not really a rugby fan. It is inane stuff like this that caused people to go elsewhere. This particular topic is done every year and was done here just a fortnight or so ago. linkIf nobody challenges this guff, then we'd have Nick creating his 100 threads of WUM irrelevance every day.

Watched Wigan on tv the other week and the pitch was nothing like that, it was pretty good by their standards. But the game tonight in wet conditions has completely destroyed the pitch. I think if the pitch is dry then there is little in it as to which causes most damage. If the pitch is wet then i would say Rugby has to cause more damage, there's far more ground contact with bodies than football which is mainly just boots. Maybe the ground staff are rugby fans and biased

It's been done to death on here year after year, and frankly it is tiresome. P.S I hope the batter part of your response was a Freudian slip. Or am I grasping at a typo. Again

But porn does give women unrealistic expectations. It makes them think a plumber will be there far quicker than they ever would in reality.

See link streamable.com/no5uCheck out Augsburg's goalkeeper here a couple of months ago against Cologne. Don't know if this has been shown in England (probably), but this guy is deliberately destroying the pitch, or more specifically the penalty spot, to make the penalty taker miss his penalty - and it works! The commentator was very indignant and is basically saying that this is gross unsporting behaviour. So 1-0 to the Rugby boys here (although I too would have said that Rugby does more damage, albeit without being a scientific expert on the subject). Proof is in the pudding though at the end of the day. Hope it doesn't mess up our high-speed, Gegenpressing-Fußball :-)

The problem is that the pitch just can't handle both at the same time when the weather is shite, there isn't enough time for it to recover properly I hope that keeper was fined/banned afterwards

People keep saying that rugby causes more damage than football but does anyone know why/how? As I can't see it, unless it is simply the 10 minutes less time on the pitch (although that is probably more like a couple of mins as the clock gets stopped).
I'd have thought rugby causes more damage due to: Players hitting/sliding on the deck more in rugby More of the game being played in a smaller area (generally down the middle with little on the flanks) More players on the field The repetitive up and back over the same area

It would have had to have been (not sure about the FIFA terminology) a glaringly obvious incident of sporting misconduct that warrants a red card. Unbelievable. He was embarrassed about it and didn't look too happy when asked about it after the game, though, even if it did get them the 3 points (1-0 Augsburg). Caused a stir, that's for sure!
