Boring. Football does more damage to pitched than rugby. Prove it If youve got a working set of eyes I won't have to prove anything

Normal service resumed getting good stuffing Thanks for yet another suberbly informed opinion of a club likely to finish in the top 4 again... You either post shite for the fun of it/WUM or you genuinely don't get RL... Lol, yes i do get it, they got totally out played. Chin up.

Like a previous poster has pointed out, has anyone else thought it may be a combination of the football and rugby that wears the pitch out? Saying that cant a stand be built at the DRAM centres for the giants couple of thousand attendees? That was a joke before I get abuse.

Every groundsman I have heard talk about it have said football damages the pitch more than rugby. How many groundsmen have you spoken to about it? Thats still just opinions, show me some proof? Any evidence of what specifically it is about football that does more damage? The wrestling mud bath i saw last night wouldn't have ended up like that during a football match i can guarantee

It certainly does not help the pitch having 2 sides using it at this time of year, But Rugby League causes less wear than football.
Rugby Union however !!
In an ideal world the grass is left longer for Rugby, Which it is once the footy season is over but not possible now.
Superb game to watch is rugby league, Nigh on non stop throughout with a refreshing lack of pretend injuries and little gobbing off to the officials.
In my Utopian world the Giants would have their own 10K stadium.

The groundsman said once that football causes more damage cos of the players having to constantly change direction and turn and running up and down and across the pitch where in rugby its mainly up and down and straighter lines

Another thread proving how poor this forum is. Just nothing happens on here anymore because people have packed up and gone elsewhere. Squabbling and name calling and thread policing, just awful place. Head to the smile a while facebook group, a far more pleasant experience over there

The groundsman said once that football causes more damage cos of the players having to constantly change direction and turn and running up and down and across the pitch where in rugby its mainly up and down and straighter lines I've heard this too. Probably the switch to Summer has made a difference too, but in general our pitch seems to stand up pretty well to having a game of one sort or another every other week all the time. If Wigan's looked poor for the first game of the season though, I'd suggest either football or the weather are to blame.

Head to the smile a while facebook group, a far more pleasant experience over there you would have to inform of us of what you expect to happen on a football posting site?? informed debate??? never get it, its about opinions.. informed usually means in my opinion... a 'pleasant experience'?? watching chitty chitty bang bang is a pleasant experience... having a post that everyone agrees with and compliments each other on their unbiased views and optimistic outlook?? dull...and definitely somewhat false..

Just watched the highlights of yesterday's u21s game & the pitch isn't looking too great atm, that's before the giants even get to use it.. Yesterday was a monsoon so hopefully abit of tlc will give Wagner the pitch his style needs.. I think the giants will play around 6 games on it from now til the end of the footy season.. Nowt major.
