The difference being Lee was regularly decried for it on here. As a footballer his talent is admired on here, it's his inbred Italian cheating antics that are deplored. Answer the question....Don't go forgetting that towel now will you?

Buzz, suggest you do go and get back to whatever it is you do for a day job...
Your lad dives, unless those youtube clips are fabricated. Just accept that he's a talented lad, but he also has a side of his character that's less than sporting...
On another level I could make comparisons with Ronaldo - he was devastating at Man Utd (& since then), but I always struggled to understand why he needed to cheat when he could have just beaten players with raw talent. In short he didn't need to dive & if your lad uses his talent more as opposed to theatrics you'd probably have an even better player on your hands.

A swear word's a swear word, no grey areas there either, no matter what that word may be. I've seen many a comment on here calling others by swear words, never seen them with the 'accept a ban message' beneath their post.

I don't actually mind huddersfield but in all honestly their has never been that much of a rivalry because we've been in leagues above in most of our history.
Yes forestieri has got a reputation for going down easy however I watch him week in week out and to see him in action is just a pleasure he causes havoc and defenders just hate him ...quiet honestly the bargain of the season imo.
That said , we aren't a one man team we have other players that could cause you issues just as much.
I'm expecting a tight game tbf and I think both team will be up for it so I'm looking forward and even if wednesday do lose well still be in the play offs no matter what.
Most of us were just wanting a top half finish this year anyway so a play off finish would be a massive (lol) bonus.

Haha a playoff place would be a massive bonus, all the brass you've spent it would be an embarrassment not to make them.

Do you lot play 2 up front plus the diver or does he play behind Hooper?

If you can 'professionally' get a decision rather than playing the game and taking the decisions given its very much ok now? acting like a little girl having a boo on a bad day isnt seen as a bad thing if it gets you a decision? There has always been the divers and the cheats and the 'hardmen' who in recent times seem to have cost their clubs more than helped them but the amount of falling over and over acting is getting utterly ridiculous and the lack of embarrassment from the cuprits and their managers and clubs is really worrying..

Haha a playoff place would be a massive bonus, all the brass you've spent it would be an embarrassment not to make them. In our starting line up this season there's Westwood FREE, Liam Palmer ACADEMY, Tom Lees FREE, Glenn Loovens FREE, Sam Hutchinson FREE, Barry Bannan FREE (signing of the millennium!), Keiran Lee FREE, Ross Wallace FREE, Atdhe Nuhiu FREE. We've only really spent large fees of over £1M on Hooper, Forestieri, Joao, Matias and Jack Hunt. With large loans for McGeady and Alex Lopex amongst a couple of others. Probably totalling around £10M spent and we recovered around £2M+ on player sales ourselves. A net spent of probably a third of Boro and Derby. We've had a new coach, coaching set up, whole new team, new way of playing implemented in the space of about 2 months last summer and most were sceptical. We started off poorly and I reckon most would've been happy for progress on last seasons mid-table. We're obviously wanting to finish in the top 6 and we'll definitely be close but it's not like it's shit or bust for us this season it's nice to see the way we are progressing. Just so I'm not talking about me me me, I think the way you play football is similar to us in that Wagner is trying to play things the right way and make it fit in this league. You're obviously capable of scoring and conceding goals in the same game which will make it an open and interesting spectacle. I don't think our team underestimates anyone as if you let your guard down at this level you get stung. I'm sure if you stick with the style of play that you're adopting then you ultimately will progress. We've had to improve on our travels a lot and since Christmas we have done that so hopefully it won't we quite as free scoring as you hope! Good luck for the season after this weekend! There's been some banter flying around on here and it's all just wind up really but I know I'd happily face the music to any opposition fan after the game, win or lose.

Look how much Bournemouth paid on transfer fees when they got promoted, bugger all in the grand scheme of things. However they broke the bank when it came to wages. Hooper alone must be costing you £40 grand a week, that's over £2million a season. Most fans, including Town's on occasion, seem to think that if they cam on a free then they are striking a good deal. The players agents though, factor the free transfer into the wage packet which seems to be ignored by the fans.

Completely true and valid point. Our wage bill is amongst the top 6-8 teams in the league and therefore we are living up to expectations in terms of expenditure. Our chairman seems to have got this incredible reputation from the outside as some sort of super villain that will bankrupt us but his frugal spending on all aspects of the club is promising for our long term stability as a club. He's maximising sponsorship, sold in excess of 14,000 season tickets for next season (some of them are 2 and 3 year season tickets) and when you coincide that with the new FFP rules of £39M loss over 3 seasons then I do think this sort of spending is sustainable in comparison to several other teams in this league. We are also debt free in the most recent accounts.
I've only followed Wednesday as we dropped out of the Prem and during those 15 years we've spent absolutely nothing. Our biggest transfers were Franny Jeffers and Stevie May (around £1M). The rest of the league may see some sort of wreckless Thai man, lazily trying to hit the jackpot before getting bored but the genuine optimism from most of the 'realistic' fans tells you that this things seem quite positive in all aspects of the club. It's nice to be at this end of the table in positional and financial terms for once.

I can't give you any figures but your wage bill must be MASSIVE. I don't blame you all for getting excited with a foreign owner spunking all over you but let's face it there ain't going to be no success coming from Sheffield.

Its just another game to me, I don't think its special just because its Wednesday, nor did I think it was special because it was Leeds last week. I was very happy with the win against Leeds but it could have been against any team and I would be just as happy. Its only 3 points regardless of who it is.
As for Wednesday, they are a lot like Leeds in that they have a large following (particularly if they are doing well) and should be doing a lot better if it was based on that alone. Problem is league positions are not dictated by how many people show up to watch.
Its funny how so many clubs that were once in the top flight seem to think they have a god given right to be there again. Its been 15 years or so since Wednesday were up there. They have no more right to it than any other club.
FWIW I thought the thread title was funny. We all know he is a diver but it was done in jest, or at least thats how I took it. I don't blame the players I blame the authorities for allowing them to get away with it. If they wanted to stop the acting they could do it pretty quickly.

Well fuck me, a few wins and the Wednesday fans are out in force including that Pig Chap.A humble bunch they are.
When they can half fill their stadium, they can come on here giving it the big one.
Whatever happens on Saturday, I hope Wednesday capitulate in the play-offs. Then they can disappear (again).

If our ticketing prices were more acceptable then hillsborough would be seeing gates of late 20s early 30s however the price hike has simply priced people out. It's funny though because every time I see huddersfield on tv or highlights there are just empty seats everywhere ...slightly puzzling seeing as your prices are fair and you have a chairman that has supported and backed you time after time ..He must get disappointed with the effort he's put in only to have a stadium that's always looking half full .

Even Hull and Boro are better supported than that huge, massive Club Sheffield Wednesday. 'The biggest in the land'. We don't post on your forum giving it large thus our attendances are not relevant here.

Wouldn't say our prices are fair. Most games it's lucky if we charge less than £25 in the cheapest (ie uncovered) areas, and you can easily pay £35+ in the most expensive seats for some games. Plus it doesn't help that lots of people have been 'lost'due to the dour football on display under Powell for example and it's hard to get them back, especially when it's not exactly cheap.

odd that someone takes over a sheffield club playing in the second division and then ramps up the prices??
didnt anyone tell him that sheffield has the most people on minimum wage of any city/town in the land???
clearly this bloke believes that a big city will have 'enough' people who will pay the silly prices and bollox to the rest??
thats not a great sign of his benevolence in a future where he might have to pay premier league wages???
i think if they get up, they will be unpleasantly suprised at how much it might cost them to 'share' in the premier league 'experience'...

Quite a lot of people have bought 2 or 3 year season tickets. Kids at £25-50 a year could be watching prem football for a couple of quid a game. Adults for £20-25 a game. Not bad if we were to make it. Still not bad for Championship football either.
