I wonder when Hefele will start being selected as a first team choice? Thought we'd of tried to ease him in by now. I honestly thought Hudson did well today. Yes he's not the best under pressure but knows what to do in that situation. IE BOOT IT. I think if teams target him morebhell bebin trouble but dealt with a lot of thing very well today. Unsure about hef. Worried town fans are building up a player to a point where his only option is to disappoint them. Hudson had an excellent game today and isn't anywhere near as bad as some make out at times. The major plus for me today besides the result.......we have two more than decent full backs now. Smith has been immense in both games and Lowe arguably mom today for me. Surprise surprise - we don't look like shipping goals all the time now and as such should Nick results like today more often.

Just got back - to County Durham. Excellent - thoroughly professional performance - every player knew their role in an astute system. Marks out of ten - as agreed on the journey home: Ward 7 - assured, unlucky with the penalty Smith 7 - solid, further improved since last season Hudson 7 - talked all match, still looks like he has got a mistake in him Schindler 8 - classy and composed Lowe 7 - looked better than against Brentford Lolley 7 - worked really hard Hogg 9 - broke up most of their attacks, had Shelvey in his back pocket * MOM * Mooy 8 - not one stray pass, always available Van La Parra 6 - frustrating Wells 8 - clinical finish Kachunga 8 - worked even harder than Lolley Scanz and Kasey - 7 Payne 8 - great finish HERR WAGNER - 10 !!! Perfect assessment. Tactical masterclass from Wagner - subs at just the right time to make a crucial difference. What a great day to remember for all Town fans. Keep hold of the memories when there are times it won't be quite as perfect.

Just watched the highlights, absolutely buzzing! Both great finishes & I thought the penalty was very harsh! Still, who cares!

For all the detractors that Hudson has that sit in the stands, it's clear from some of the photos the players have tweeted after the game from the coach that he has plenty of respect from his teammates. Even his would be replacement the Heff seems to look up to him and you sense he knows he has to show some patience before he gets his chance.

Ok, how can I see the goals. Someone posted the penalty on the stream thread, but I want to see the other two ! Channel 5 or 5HD should have the lot on the Football League Show tonight.

Tbf - we've brought in a few ! We had to really. A lot of loans went back and players were overstaying their welcome. We've not spent the money Toon have though. How much is parachute money now and how long does it last?Too much and too long

Patronising Sky presenter after the Norwich v Wednesday game said 'This is early days for the table, but we know Bristol and Huddersfield fans will want to see it!'... said in a 'Aah, bless their little hearts!' manner. Grrrrr... !

From Newcastle board below 2 holding midfielders yet again against a poor championship side, rafa needs to realize very quickly this is not the premiership and that's not how you win matches in the championship. You need goal's forget trying to keep the other team out from scoring and score some goal's. Anita and Hayden started yet again there's no way in this world these 2 should be starting Evidently we are a poor championship side!! Long may we be poor and keep beating arrogant gits

Grrrrr... ! A little similar to last season when it was "who'd have thought Leicester would be top of the premiership at the end of September!". Then it was "end of October", then November etc We know how that patronising tale ended

Even his would be replacement the Heff seems to look up to him and you sense he knows he has to show some patience before he gets his chance. The problem MH has is that his away performances have always been much better than his home ones. This is far from the first away game where he has been excellent and it won't be the last.

Lots of Championship managers looking through their training handbooks tonight trying to find what the "defensive block' is.

Just back, 3 hours to get there and less than 2 hours to get back!! Great day... and things are definitely on the up - we EVEN took a quick throw (can't remember when we last did that ) today and nearly scored from it! Newcastle wasted their chances, we buried ours, looked a soft pen to me from up in the heavens and the ref was a homer, but we deserved the points in the end, time for some after a long sober day

Couldn't make it today. Will there be a full 90 minutes video/ prog anywhere - love to watch it. Like for example you could watch all the Fulham matches last season from their website.

Im gonna have so much fun at work this week. I work about a mile from SJP with a load of Newcastle fans and the person next to me has a season ticket. The MD is a Sunderland season ticket holder so I think my banter will be ok with the management. Bring on Monday morning!

Do you include Hudson in this? (who you were bagging half way through the game). If you do, fair does and we move on!. Happy days. Morley, he is past it, he is not a scapegoat. I know it and so do those who understand footy. I dot rate him and i will criticise as i see fit. I also dont rate Scannell. Oti, answer my question. I don't give a fuck about your side swerve response. Answer my question.

50 years a Town fan and I have to say I can't remember a more impressive result. I'm absolutely buzzing, proud of the team, proud of the Coach, proud of the Chairman and proud of the amazing fans.
Well done everybody.

Mark Hudson's detractors should listen to what Wagner says about him: leader, organiser, communicator, tough. Also note: Brentford: Hudson plays, we win. Shrewsbury: Hudson doesn't play, we lose. Newcastle: Hudson Plays, we win. Same last season too.

Was a bit gutted at first when we didn't sign Pato but wow what replacements we have in Payne and Palmer. Excellent bit of transfer business Town!
