Why do I read this forum at times like this? Just winds me up.
The club know we need a striker, just like they knew when we were in for Terodde at the start of the season. We don't have the endless millions of pounds to tempt them easily here so we have to be clever and unfortunately sometimes we have to bide our time. January isn't the easiest time to buy a player and I'm sure they're working as best they can to get somebody in.
As for sticking defenders upfront, it sounds like we had a couple of good chances from it and with a bit more luck we might have got something. Before that it didn't sound to be happening with just Wells up there so credit for going for it and trying a different route.
We're still 5th and in touch with a long way to go yet. Get a grip and don't be too harsh on them, we're supposed to be in this together!

What I don't get is how don't we have anyone in the Academy we can give a go up front. Surely if we are having to put Hudson there then it's worth giving them a chance as a sub

Reading this thread you'd forget: Palmer, rvlp and Hogg all not playing. Arguably our most important players in various positions. You'd also forget if Wednesday go for a player there's no chance we'll match those wages. You'd also forget Wednesday are a quality side at home. And we are a man down The expectations of some that we should be winning every single match is ridiculous. Course we should, wendys are shite, sick of schoolboy stuff putting defenders Upfront.

Why is Graham Scott allowed to referee the game at home and away against Sheffield Wednesday?
He also refereed Town v Leeds and Leeds v Town last season
Bonkers having the same ref for both games against the same team in a season

Mid January and SIX points clear of seventh place. So we lost today... but there's a very long way to go.

Let's just face it, we will never be able to afford to go up. We can't compete money wise hence 2 central defenders up front gain.

Of course we need a striker but I bloody wish Hogg hadn't gone into that stupid tackle in the last minute on Boxing day that he didn't need to do! We need him back ASAP.

With schoolboy stuff putting defenders upfront Didn't Wells score against Blackburn and Wagners masterstroke of bringing on Hefele to skilfully score off his backside at Villa. Come one. This is clutching at straws. If we move to 3 up front in a game to get a point and 2 of those players are centre backs we have an issue

Nick.... no they're not, they really aren't... though I agree about putting defenders up front, but sadly that's really the only option we have at times, David Wagner is playing his hand as best he can and today we were down to ten men. The need for another option up front though does need resolving if we want a top six finish.

2 chances in 2 minutes fell to centre halves we had to throw up front. I know we're missing a few of attacking players at the moment but we're so short up front. It can be so frustrating being a Town supporter at times. Deano is quite rightly revered, as is DW, and their long-term policy is no doubt the right one. In the meantime however we have to suffer 2 seasons at least with a too weak strike force. PLEASE- after today do NOT finish a match with Hudson and Hefele up front - it is just so embarrassing and, worse, so totally ineffective.

With schoolboy stuff putting defenders upfront does beg the question why dont we start with the schoolboy stuff, best chances of the game?? long periods of possession going nowhere, all kicked into touch by one long range shot as we backed off.. we are making the scoring of goals and of making chances too hard.. we might have seen out 2/3 one goal wins with some style but we have never looked like winning a game by a few... we go behind, we lose.. its a very hard style and approach we have to games..probably in the end going to be too hard for the squad we have.. Newcastle struggling badly today, one run by a striker and a shot, one run and a cross into the box for a big centre forward, they win the game.. not lots of passes, not lots of possession.. Does anyone at Newcastle give a shit?? it wasnt happening for them today, go to plan b..

Bigger fish to fry than MASSIVE in the next few weeks. The way the cookie crumbles you just know that we will meet and beat them in the Play-off final. No problems with today as I didn't expect to win.
If only the admins would send Boss hogg and Operation Pig's accounts to Room 101 that will be fine. Fairly phlegmatic about it.

<xmlns:texthelpns rwthpgen="1">Ish Miller scored aswel sign him up, at least he's a striker</xmlns:texthelpns> <xmlns:texthelpns rwthpgen="1">Ok be a dick all your life </xmlns:texthelpns> You say that but Miller would be a better option up front than Hudson. I don't understand why the club have allowed us to be so limited. Its costing us points, which bearing in mind we are 5th still, leaves me wondering how many more points we might have by now.

Is this the same ref that didn't send the Wednesday player off after 2 yellows a couple of years back? If so, it needs looking at!
