I don't see what your point is there ... he wouldn't get on the bus .. he was persuaded ... then when he played he played pretty well .. they're not mutually exclusive My point is he "allegedly" wouldn't get on the bus but when "persuaded" still put in a MoM performance. I still wonder what Wagner might've done with him given a chance Might be harsh but I can't see Butterfield enjoying the double training sessions that Wagner puts on. Decent player but a bit of a pea heart.

Hope he is still one of our targets for next season - he will be a bigger star in the lng term than Izzy but would be happy with both

Nathan Ake has had a few seasons of Premier League experience though, and has proven he can play at this level. As much as I think Izzy and Kasey are both cracking players, they are untested in the Prem (no doubt in my mind they can compete at this level mind, but any fee involved should reflect this).

Which is pretty staggering and suggests they won't be cheap!

Obviously the potential has a price as well, which you cant really put a price on, but a big sell on and reasonable buy back may limit that. If ince is worth 5 million plus add ons then palmer and brown have to be less.

With the limitation of one loan player within the premier league the concept of a big sell on plus a buy back clause would be a way of working within this, suiting both the clubs. Chelsea may well be adapting their model accordingly, as might others. Kasey was the best signing last year imo and he would be this year also

I'd say £4.5m tops for either of them - in the grand scheme of things all Premier League related that's not a huge amount, you see deals done for more in the Championship!

Can't see anything less than 8m for Palmer, you pay for potential and for me this kid could be a 30m pound player in the future. Sounds daft but the natural talent he has is unbelievable, if he continues to be nurtured right and stays fit he will be one hell of a player.
I advise you to watch back some of the highlights on YouTube as I did a few days ago (out of boredom due to not getting my town fix at the moment), and it just reminded me how good he actually was. So key in the 10 role, Derby, Forest, Brentford, QPR at home, Norwich away to name a few where he looks unplayable.
I love Brown too and would take him in a heartbeat but if we had to sign one permanently it's Palmer all day for me.

Fully agree, but likewise, why it is more likely Chelsea would LOAN Palmer and SELL Brown. That would be my second choice, but would happily settle for that.

Palmer will sign on a permanent deal.
If he doesn't Ted will run around Elland Road naked with a Ken Bates mask on.

£8m for both of them, with £2m extra in add ons for each player, so could rise to £12m for the pair! I think everyone could be happy with that deal, if not, grab at least one of them on loan, with a view to purchase at minimum!

It was far more unlikely that we'd get promoted, and we did.

Palmer is signing on loan, Brown off to Brighton. If that's the case, I'm off the hook and Ted is on it! I'm loving Palmer instead, and through it all, you offered Mooy protection, a little pass and deflection, whether Smith's right or wrong.

Is Palmer ready for the Prem? Yes, I think he is. He has very quick feet and is a very intelligent player, a little more refined than Brown who is more powerful/direct. With the striker(s) already signed and with one or both of Ince and Burke to come, then Palmer is a better fit. I can't believe our attacking options could be: Depoitre, Mounié, Wells, VLP, Kachunga, Palmer, Ince, Burke and Quaner. With Payne, Scannell, Bunn and Lolley currently on the books as well.
