Going to be a fantastic signing. However, I cannot for the life of me read his surname without thinking I'm reading 'Mountie', far too much 1992 World Wrestling Federation during the break between seasons I think

Jesus Christ a thread was started for nick and all his shite about ex managers and players. Can we start a thread for 3pipe to argue with people and moan. Seams like every thread is either a who is me or picking a fight with someone. Sick of reading this shit if I'm honest. Yes I don't have to read them but I genuinely want to see if there's any new regarding town. Fuck me I can argue with the best of em and probably have done but every god damn thread is polluted with this shit. Either suck it up pipes or move on. It's a football forum not like you've been banged up in armley with a 6ft4 heavy set bloke making you his bitch for 18 months. Enough said But Nicks ex player thread isn't actually shit, it'd factual and good. This genuinely made me laugh out loud 🤣

That's not gneiss. I have a lode more puns. I used to work on some of those in South India near a village called Reddykunte. We called it the Reddykunte Gneiss but couldn't get it published. I think we did get the Shittibummi Granite published in something like the Journal of South Indian Geology. Which of course reminds us all of answer to the conundrum, "what's the funniest thing a rock said to a geologist?" NOTHING...rocks don't talk and geologiy isn't funny.

A weird thing is, the season just gone we've all been raving about how Mooy is one of the best players we've ever seen in blue and white... but if Mounié is rubber-stamped before Mooy, then we'll be getting him without breaking our transfer record. From the footage available, this guy looks like a very very good player. The fact that we're now spending EIGHT FIGURES on players is surreal AF though!

Just hope that it doesn't raise expectations too much.

I set the alarm early to post whilst 3Pipes is asleep. It's increasingly evident that he has a file on all of us...
I'm sure Mounie is in the bag and we will be doing a 'shock and awe' unveiling soon whereby we announce him with Mooy where we've spent £20m+ (although officially I'd imagine it will be 'undisclosed'.

In a desperate effort to get his thread back on topic, the Yorkshire Post is running s story tonight saying the deal should be done in the next day or two www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/huddersfield-town/huddersfield-town-set-to-secure-big-money-move-for-montpellier-s-mounie-1-8619007HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are poised to wrap up the club record £11m signing of Montpellier striker Steve Mounie in the next 48 hours. The Premier League newcomers are set to smash their transfer record for the second time in under a week to bring in the 22-year-old Benin international, following on from the capture of Porto’s Belgian striker Laurent Delpoitre, who signed on Friday night for a fee in the region of £3.5m. According to reports in France, Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicollin confirmed that Mounie, who scored 14 goals for the Ligue 1 side last term, would join Town on a four-year deal, subject to a medical. The Yorkshire Post understands talks were progressing last night with paperwork to be completed ahead of the highly-rated striker undergoing a medical and sealing his move to Huddersfield. Is it a posh version of the Examiner - he has had his medical - well known DATM fact. They get it from here you know?

Just hope that it doesn't raise expectations too much. Why wouldn't we have raised expectations, should we know our place and accept we will be relegated - I have higher expectations than that and these sort of signings help me to believe there are No limits!!

Liverpool turned down £11 million for Albert Moreno (a second choice left back)- a similar amount to the supposed fee for Mounie.
The fee is extraordinary for us, but far from it when compared to what we're up against.
It's exciting, but we need to remember this if he struggles to adapt, coming up against better players, a faster game and more leniency from the ref.

You've identified the big names and of them arguably most of them have been slow to adapt and not yet delivered what is expected considering the money paid (Giroud, Pogba, Martial and Sakho). I'm not suggesting Mounie won't either, just that may not.

If he only turns out to be as good as Giroux, thatl be fine Giroud is a great player. He's just not suited to arsenal. Has everything in his game apart from pace.

With Mounie and Depoitre attacking the six yard box VLP will get plenty of assists this season. I'd have had double figures last season if one of them was on the six yard line.
