Just seen this on the BBC website: Everton striker Romelu Lukaku's transfer to Chelsea has been delayed - because the Premier League champions are waiting for their new kit deal to begin. (Daily Express)So maybe we are not the only ones in this position. Because they don't have any old kit left in his size to picture him in?!

Can't decide if we getting a bargain or mbappe is truly over rated and over priced Can't really compare the two. Mbappe is ridiculously good. I think we might be getting a bargain here. Nothing to suggest anything has particularly changed with regard to our recruitment approach, other than the sums in question of course. If mounie hit ten goals next year, looks Lacey and has a good touch then he'll be worth double next summer irrespective of whether we survive or not. That will be Dean's thinking I'd suggest.

So how come Tommy Smith got so many assists. Because he makes the right decision a lot more often than VLP. He doesn't dwell on it and crosses earlier, meaning that the defence doesn't have as much time to get in place. VLP is a lot more unpredictable but his crossing improved in the second half of the season and he flashed a lot of good crosses across the six yard box, there was just no one attacking it. Correct. He is working on it. Wagner is helping him. The thing to remember imo is that you have to be able to get into the attacking positions in order to be in a position to cross. VLP is capable of doing this with a piece of skill or raw pace or combination of the two. Smith though massively effective with his crossing- for the reasons you quite rightly say would need help for m team mates to get into the positions.

...are you saying Smith didn't lump any crosses in...oh yes he did. No, I'm not, and didn't say that. I wrote "OFTEN didn't". A large percentage of Smiths assists were from technical interplay with Kachunga, or dragging it back having driven into the area. Largely speaking, this was completely different to the approach on the other side, where Lowe and VLPs attacking effort most often weren't "joined up" like Smith and Kachunga were. I thought he lumped it over as often as VLP tbh. I agree the interplay between VLP and Loewe was less productive - the last good bit I can think of was when VLP nodded it cleverly into Loewe's path for the pen v Fulham. My conclusion would be that it wasn't too much to do with the full backs more to do with the clever runs from Kachunga - we didn't see too many similar ones from VLP. I don't know whether it was intentional / planned that they operated differently or just natural tendency. When Kachunga and VLP swapped sides I can't remember either being too productive with the respective full backs. Kachunga and Smith did seem to have a very good understanding. I guess the natural roles of all 4 should have been to provide for Nahki but can't remember too many of his goals coming from interplay with VLP, Loewe, Kachunga or Smith. Something that definitely needs to be worked on with the new strikers.

it could be part of the deal with the new sponsors that they get the new guys wearing the new kit. It is likely to be a substantial £s deal.

Friday is the end of the week and the end of the month. Are the players back for the start of pre-season next week? Friday looks like it could be a very busy day.

Just hope that it doesn't raise expectations too much. I have high expectations at that price. If he is shit we could have saved over 11 million. I'm not saying he will be shit but to spend that money there will be an element of expectation! Otherwise we could have just stayed with what we have and sign a couple of cheap back up players.

11 million sadly does not guarantee you much these days. Look at Villa they paid more than that for Ross Mccormack he couldn't even climb over his own garden gate! Having said that I doubt wed be paying this if we didn't think he was a fair player.

To be perfectly honest, if Wagner brought in heskey and Ishy miller and told us that they were going to spearhead our inaugural assault on the premiership and he was happy with what they were going to give us, then I'd accept it.
To date, I don't think he's made one duff call and if he thinks Mounie is the man then I'm happy.
I think the big Belgian lad will do a cracking job as well and I can see him getting a few goals.

Are these unscientific predictions the cause for the reports on twitter of Mounie being announced tomorrow lunchtime?
Edit: no, it seems like it's come from French media.

I don't think it was a bad call footballer wise, more language, settling, acclimatising etc

Got excited for a minute. I got a notification from Towns YouTube channel, but then I thought its 930pm there so it won't be anything important. Lol.
Sure enough it's all the goals from last season.

Kit sponsorship could be worth a few quid I work at last seasons away sponsor and they aren't doing it this time as it's far too expensive upwards of £2 million is what's been quoted so maybe the delay in announcing this lad is due to kit sponsors

I've just said I don't have insight I never saw him play... but from what I've read he was total shit and him getting embarrassed by Shrewsbury didn't help.. but I might be wrong it might have been language or whatever you said
