Klich - Polish International Anita - Regular in Newcastle Championship Title Winners last season Saiz - Wanted by many La Liga Teams Alioski - Macedonian International Ekuban - From Serie A This bunch should create even more chances for 30 goal Chris Wood, add in Green, Wiewald, Viera, O'Kane, Ayling, Jansson, Sacko, Roofe, Dallas, Bridcutt and Berardi and we should be looking at Top Half certainly........with a few other signings happening soon apparently especially in defence, who knows. Saiz, if he was wanted by La Liga teams why sign for a mid table championship team ? Ekuban hasn't played for Chievo has he, he's been loaned out every year and spent last season in the Albanian league. Lad a work says he's the next Balotelli, your last next Pele worked out well 😁 Quite possibly Porro but at least we look to be having a half-decent go of it at last and these relative unknowns will either gel with our remaining semi-decent players or they won't. That will become clear in a few weeks time and as I said before believe a decent start will breed confidence and momentum both on and off the field which every team needs.

I will applaud Leeds for not taking someone from the usual managerial merry go round. However I think it's fair to say no one knows whether the manager or any of the players signed are any good or not.
Could be a complete master stroke or a complete disaster. Time will tell.

Would not disagree with you one iota there Marsh. However, we had (have) Wagner and he showed he knew what he was doing. Not convinced with the pedigree of your new manager but I am prepared to be proved wrong. As a matter of interest, what will pass for you as success this coming season? Better than 7th Place, Top 2 be better of course and quietly pleased with signings made from what I have been able to find out about them. A long time since we managed to win the race for players that half-decent teams in Europe were also in for. Rid of chaotic ownership it seems and not paying rent on our home. Managed to keep the half decent spine we had in Wood, Viera, Jansson and Green and with a decent start, momentum will build helping the relatively unknown Manager to be accepted. They may not gel and it could all turn to shit but one year it's going to happen and many including myself are quietly optimistic this time. I would suggest anything less than top 6 deemed as failure. Think Villa will be very strong this time out. Then there's the usual suspects plus the odd surprise package. Still can't quite work out why you just didn't give Monk what he wanted and let him get on with it. Much as I think the guy's a massive tool, there's no denying he did a decent job and I feel sure he would have pushed on for you next season. As it is, think this guy is out of his depth and if you're bottom half come the end of October, what happens then? He'll be doubtless sacked, you're back to square one and there's another season gone. Realise you have to remain optimistic whilst we're still some time off a ball being kicked in anger but you know it could happen. After all, this is leeds utd we're on about.

Marsh, I hope you do well. I am probably alone on here in being genuine in that. I think we both know though that this for Leeds is just the latest laughing stock...... Morley, recent history stops me from shouting our chances from the rooftops but sense we will win more games this season than last where we had an abysmal pre-season then start and end to the Season. Doubt we will be a laughing stock more likely mount a credible challenge where there doesn't seem to be any stand out teams on paper to me anyway. As much as I think he is an out and out gold plated petulant twat, Monk played a big part in your play-off bid last season. Out of curiosity, how do you feel about Monk now?. Your new Manager?, who knows and yes, he could be a master stroke. All be it a different level but Port Vale last close season spent a fair bit of money after bringing in an unheard of foreign Manager. They signed loads of unheard of foreign Players and the project was an out and out disaster. Yes, we also signed some (unheard of) foreign Players, but they added to what we had already. You seem to be 'flooding' your first Team with unheard Players and an unheard of Manager with a questionable pedigree in charge. I honestly think it has disaster written all over it. The Championship is unforgiving, very tough. Oh and Port Vale from being fancied pre season got relegated last season.

The rumours he had lost the dressing room, the still not explained fall out with fans favourite Jansson and the unforgivable team selection of virtually unknowns v Sutton will live long in the memory. As will his strange and tetchy interview with Popey on Radio Leeds after your win at ER.Throw in 'trip-gate' v Wagner at yours so with hindsight not quite sure what to make of his tenure. Was it Pep Clotet and James Beattie on the coaching team who had more of an influence who knows? Be interesting to see how Clotet fares in charge of Oxford this year. The majority view on our Forums including my own is prepared to give Chrstiansson a chance and the fact that the new owner in Radz has bought the house back and has bankrolled multi million pound signings NOT LOANS for the first time in years is encouraging. At 16-1 the last time I looked possibly worth an Each-Way punt assuming they all gel and get off to a decent start = full houses, momentum, winning mentality etc etc .......but then there is your Port Vale scenario as you say and we could implode who knows?

Apparently the new owners were not impressed with the failure to reach the Play Offs last season after a weird last few games collapse and Monk wasn't keen on working under a foreign style regime who would scout players from all over Europe with their contacts and he would not have much say. Plus rumours abound that Boro tapped him up as early as late season too, tales of training ground bust ups with players and he has earned 'The Snake' nickname from many of ours, certainly will get an interesting reception at both Boro games. Realise he won't have many fans in the HD area after his 'accidental collision' with Wagner but similarly if he starts badly with Boro doubt their fans will be too patient either. No stand out challengers for me but you would guess Villa be strong with Terry, Norwich maybe, Fulham and as a surprise possibly Brentford who if they keep hold of their core players looked half decent every time I saw them last year. As for our unknown new manager comes across as a nice guy, maybe too nice, has managed a Champions League Team and most level headed fans will allow him the time to impress....approx 5 games I reckon. 😉

A real statement of intent buying the ground back. The new owner has to be applauded for that and also a great PR move. Re Monk, I hope Boro do nothing this season. Billy Big Bollocks Monk needs taking down a peg or two. You could be right re his assistants and the influence they had. I personally would like us to stay up and you to join us. Prefer to watch us play Leeds twice in a season than Bournemouth or Swansea for example. The same reason I wanted Bradford City to go up last season on the basis of us still being in the Championship. Your new Manager of course needs to be given a chance. I just think the unrealistic weight of expectation makes that job pretty much impossible to be considered successful.

Would settle for that having never witnessed a Leeds v Town clash at the highest level in my lifetime. Could be the Clough/Taylor scenario for Monk minus his assistants, time will tell but hoping he will be looking enviously down the A1 and shaking his head come May 2018 thinking what a shocking decision he made.

Watched that infamous Bayern final the other week.
How Leeds weren't down to 10 men after 10 minutes I'll never know.
Terry Yorath. Dirty bastard.
Treatment of Gary Sprake was a disgrace too.

As a Leeds fan, I think it's safe to say I won't be buying one! Unfortunately it will appeal to the younger crowd who like a bit of tacky bling.
But I do subscribe to the miserable Old Git school who thinks anybody over 18 who wears a shirt made of shiny synthetic fibres, in garish colours emblazoned in advertising, is slightly sad and hasn't got a mirror in their house.

They were acting like twats prior to the equaliser and I was just curious. Don't get too much open supporting of Leeds in Huddersfield pubs in general.

No it was The Wireworks. When I say acting like twats I may be being a bit harsh but I was surprised they were being so vocal in their support of Leeds. They soon went quiet when the Villa equaliser got a large cheer from everyone else watching the game.

The Bull was always a Leeds pub when Terry ran that. Shame because he now has the Saddle and the Bay Horse as well!
Yeah the Leeds fans in the Cav were of similar ilk.

I know that Terry is Leeds and the Black Bull was the nearest pub to where I lived at the time when he ran it. I probably know 1 of the Leeds in the Cav, i know he used to drink there at least. Showing support of Leeds when the Wireworks was the Globe wouldn't have resulted in a pretty ending. I'd been told Terry was going to be involved with the Saddle/Lindley Taps reopening but didn't know he was connected to the Bay Horse, when did that happen?

Yeah supporting Leeds outwardly like that in the Globe (or now the Highgate) wouldn't be advised.
Fairly recent on the Bay Horse, it's going to have a late license with bands etc whilst the Saddle more upmarket with decent food - or so I believe.

Used to have lots of bands on in the Bay Horse years ago, not sure if they have in recent times as not been in there for a couple of years now. Trying to make the Saddle upmarket could be interesting. All they really seemed to do last time was change the name to Lindley Taps but not much else. Boozers that Terry has had have always had good food so i'll have to give it a try when it reopens.

Bit different. Our signings were proven or captains: Mooy - Proven international and has captained. Schindler - Captain Hefele - Captain - just won promotion as a champion. Lowe - Captain Kachunga - Proven but lost his way a little. Ward - Euro 2016 semi-finalist, played for Liverpool in Prem n the back end of the season VLP - Proven but lost his way a little. Played the back end with Wagner and was getting better and better. Coleman - proven with potential Palmer - UEFa Youth league Winner. Youth international Brown - Youth international. Experienced for his age THD - Experienced for his age Stankovic - Youth international from a top Champions League club Quaner - experienced yet young enough to improve, having the season of his life. There's a lot of pedigree there. Most were in before pre-season and business done very early. Wagner had over half a year to get his ideas across to the remainder of the squad. The improvement in Hogg and Smith is string evidence of this last season. Some of the signings may for similar criteria above, a lot don't. Wide open division but I already but 3 or 4 better than Leeds. The teams that finish above Boro will likely go up. Leeds fans are the most overly optimistic supporters going. Divine right syndrome and they think they like football. They don't. They like Leeds. Doesn't matter which players Leeds bring in, that's only part of the jigsaw. To have a real chance at promotion every piece of the jigsaw needs to fit. They need: A good chairman, good manager, good players, good back room staff and fans who back their team ALL the way. Get all the above together and you have a shot at promotion.
