He does that with all the players, that's part and parcel of his coaching techniques. However, where you could argue Wagner falls short is on improving our attacking players. I'm yet to see a forward player come in, and be improved from where they were at when they joined us, when performing in and around the penalty area. VLP is a prime example. VLP isn't a good attacker and never has been, it's that simple. There's only so much Wagner will be able to do. All he'll have to do is shoot from 30 yards and watch the keeper throw it into the net, or stand next to the keeper and wait for the ball to be rolled to him. Apart from when we play the real top teams, their keepers don't do that.

Why would anyone want to judge him before he’s even had a training session at Town, let alone played a game for us? Are you for real. There's a town player, playing at the World Cup, and we can't comment on him and his performances? Ha ha, I didn't realise being a town fan was akin to being in the Freemasons. "Thou shalt not speak ill of any town player until the Grand Master has had him back at canalside and taught him how to play using the force" Couldn't agree more.

Tbf he had been concussed by Sergio Ramos squeezing his shoulder during the national anthem though 😂

Yes, clearly we have a system, but there is MORE focus of defensive patterns and what we do when we don't have the ball than there is on developing attacking play. My words were black and white but obviously I'm talking about shades...I don't believe we expend NO effort on attacking!! Nobody doesn’t not like double negatives. Tedious people don't know what litotes are.

His work rate and arguably his defensive duties. He does that with all the players, that's part and parcel of his coaching techniques. I don't think what VLP is missing can be coached into someone. Think he improved Nahki but that was more in terms of his general play and fitness. From what I've seen of him Ramadan will be an easy fit into our system and will provide the stuff that VLP is missing i.e. Getting his head up and passing to Town players up and around the box, and getting in to the box and finishing a few himself. That little pass to Salah to set up the pen was a sweet touch from a big lad.

No, it’s the people who understand that “it’s good” and “it’s not bad” are both valid expressions and why we shouldn’t just repeat what our infant school teachers told us about double negatives. 🤷🏼♂️😘

He doesn't possess a " football brain" Makes the wrong decision at crucial times over and over again. In layman's terms ... He has shit for brains💩

Thanks Crux. I've realised I've read that now. Must be buried deeper in this thread and the official site has umpteen fresher stories now... Age eh...

Playing now for last ten minutes if anybody interested How did he do? I was watching the Uruguay game. From the scoreline, I'm not holding my breath.

99% of the Stoke fans said he was shite. Now he couldn't get more than 60 mins in total at the World Cup in a very poor Egypt side.

He looked composed and sort of adequate, almost like he'd been told to occupy a portion of the pitch. There seem to be issues in the Egypt camp so I bet he can't wait to get to Huddersfield and put this behind him.

Like most of the Egypt team he was just going through the motions. I don't know what the Egyptian coach has said to him prior to his three cameo roles but for a guy who's supposed to be a winger he seems to be reluctant to take a player on. Hopefully Wagner can work his magic on him.

Thought he did alright. He clearly thinks where to pass the ball to benefit the team most and set up one great chance by robbing the full back of the ball and putting his team mate in on goal.
