I wont post up until a day before the season...got to get my bets on first...10k. For the best odds you will need a Betfair account. No sweat...as long as you have a cash out account.

Why are Real Madrid going to win La Liga?

Ever since Leicester won the title the bookies have shortened prices ridiculously. We all know we should be 5000/1 at least. And yet that was the best result ever for the bookies, they paid out sweet fa in that market. They paid out a record £25m.

Why are Real Madrid going to win La Liga? I wondered that. I suppose it is just a 2 horse race and odds were better for Madrid to win it.

Obviously if they replace Ronaldo then it boosts them but even still. Mbappe and Hazard won’t go which doesn’t leave much else.

Atletico starting XI will probably have as much if not more individual quality (Oblak, Gimenez, Saul, Lemar, Griezmann, Costa) plus the team style from Simeone - if they focus on La Liga as priority I like them for it.

They will be everybodys Cup final . All their good players are either gone or desperate to get out . They have a rookie Scots manager who has signed a number of Scots players and lower league journeymen . And there has been a toxic atmosphere for ages . Oh and now they have David Brent as a chairman . Time will tell I suppose

Let's pick this up again 6 weeks into the season and one of us will no doubt have egg all over his face.

Championship relegation treble: Rotherham, Ipswich and Reading. £5 returns £505. Good call, but probably all three unlikely. Not checked the odds but Bolton and Wigan must be up there with the favourites to go down ...

Genuine question, what is your basis for Wolves top 4? They've got the spending power to surprise a few, and 40/1 is a good price for a bet that's basically a "what if" punt. The only way to truly win at betting is to be the bookie, so I do stakes I won't miss for long shots. 2 years ago, my picks on the same parameters were Liverpool, Town, Bradford, Plymouth and Tranmere. Can't look up what the winnings would've been but it was 6 figures for a quid. Bradford and Tranmere lost their play off finals, all the others were bang on.

That is utter bollocks is that price of 40/1 it should be nearer 400/1. Even if they do have loads of money to spend are they really going to dislodge Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea from the top 4? Are they hell as like. The bookies are taking the piss with that price. I wouldn't touch 40/1 with a stolen one. The bookies are being tight with that one.

All my bets are
Bolton to be relegated 11/8
Newcastle to be relegated 11/2
Oldham to be relegated 16/1
Reading Relegated 4/1
Derby top 4 11/5
Biggest bet, Liverpool to win the league without Man City 6/5
Hull city relegated 5/1
Fleetwood win league 1 Each way 33/1

You can sell Sheffield United's points at 65.5. They only got 69 last year with the incredible first half of the season they had. Wouldn't be surprised if they ended up in the low 50's and realistically how many could they get?

I was surprised at the odds, but it's on my receipt at 21/10. EDIT: just checked again, those odds are to win, so play-offs won't count for that one. Never mind!
