A midfield 3 that cost £10.5m absolutely dominated a midfield 3 that cost £60m tonight from start to finish, anyone that says otherwise either has an agenda or knows fuck all about football.

He makes it look so effortless & so much natural ability, at his age maybe our biggest asset....on & off the field! UTT.

The way he dispossessed the Fulham player, looked up and then put the pass of the match through to Mobenza, that was exquisite. Joint MoM with Hogg for me.

But more to the point … was Billing booked last night? If so he will miss WHU on Saturday.
I've looked all over the internet and opinion seems to be split over whether it was him or Mbenza who was booked. At the time I thought it was Billing, but those around me said it was Mbenza.
Hope that the club know the answer...

With Hogg in the hole in front of 3 CBs it really allows Mooy, Billing and Pritchard to have freedom up the pitch. We desperately need a striker with some pace and better movement to capitalise on it. Mbenza had been on the pitch less than a minute yesterday and Billing sent him clean though. A striker who can find space, run behind and make space for the midfield to capitalise on would transform us.

Mounie did ok last night, worked hard and on occasions did try to get the ball down and get his head up but he just doesn’t have that movement and pace off the ball. The same can’t be said of Depoitre who is going backwards at a rapid rate and did nothing other than wrestle with their defenders and let the ball bounce off him.

Even reading the live text on both HTAFC.com, bbc and premierleague.com, the foul before the booking is by Billing. The FA website still shows him being 1 caution away so who knows. www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/suspensions

I thought it was PB booked for the foul, but those around said it was IM for kicking the ball away. Of all the sources, I'd go with the FA PL one - after all, they run the damned competition (badly).

Anguissa a donkey? Crack on...better first half i admit. When Billing sells for a 10th of that come back. First victory in ages and you're still having a pop at Billing? Not his best game tonight but still made important contributions throughout and finished the game well. Wonder what the Fulham midfield cost? Certainly a lot more than Big Phil, Mooy and Hogg cost Town. Our three bossed the midfield throughout. Main reason Town won. £30m just for that big lad that did nowt, the little one at the side of him cost a bomb too and was supposed to be highly rated in France. He was piss poor too

Billing and Kongolo are the best players in the squad by a country mile. And Billing is the fittest, btw.

RL said it was billing booked for dissent
Look I’m not his biggest fan but I can see there’s been some improvement but by no stretch of the imagination was he our best player last night. A fantastic tackle. A fantastic shot and a good cross field ball to mbenza, all worth of praise. BUT you have to admit the deficiencies to be able to improve as a player. Over 90 minutes he is lazy. Yes he puts in spurts of effort but in the second half we we’re starting to get a little over run in midfield and PB seemed to be in no mans land. At 8’3” (😉) i also expect him to win a lot more “contested” headers than he actually does. Going forward is his strength I agree but defensively, especially in matters of shape and positioning, I think there’s still a lot of work to do. Going in the right direction though.

I would contest the laziness. languid is a word I would prefer. Pritchard is the opposite to look at, but achieves little with his bustling approach. excessively tall sportsmen rarely appear energetic, as their levers are so long. The very tall tennis players often look slow. Believe me, they are not.

Pretty sure it was Mbenza booked for kicking the ball away. I think he'd done something similar a couple or minutes or so before that, so it was an easy decision for the Ref. It seemed pretty clear to me anyway...

It seemed pretty clear to me anyway... Yep! It hit the corner flag. Haha... Not that one, it was another blatant time wasting thing, maybe holding onto the ball or something when it was their free kick, normal stuff, but pretty obvious if you've just come onto the pitch and you do it twice in quick succession. Some strange things yesterday, Ref waving us for time wasting when we were not doing much more than normal. Maybe the players being subbed had lead boots, but again that's nothing new. The Ref & linesmen seemed to have a poor game in general, but nothing that I'd actually say showed any bias, they were just erratic at times...

Tbf the first one was for throwing the ball back to where the offence occurred rather than just letting Fulham take it from where they want, as happened for the rest of the game

SKY betting app apparently shows Mbenza booked. As they pay out on such things, I'd guess that this pretty much settles the issue!

Doubt there would be many teams in the land who wouldnt snap our hands off for 3m for billing. More utter nonsense from you Its hard to take you seriously (cant say i ever have, luckily you dont take your self too seriously either) Another VLP in my opinion the talent is there but the ability to produce it in more than just the occasional flash leaves a large percentage of fans frustrated. At 6ft some andonly 22 he should win every ball in the air not be knocked off the ball so easily and not look as though he cannot be bothered and is running in treacle on many an occasion.

The day we lost 3-0 at Watford MotD showed a graphic - unrelated to the Town game - which showed Billing had made the 4th most tackles in the EPL thus far. Rather gives the lie to your comment, I'd say but - hey! It's all about opinions...

Billing is 22 years old. At this stage in his career, Mooy had just had a fairly uninspiring spell at St Mirren and had returned to Australia, whilst Hogg had played about 30 professional matches. It's really exciting to see what Billing can achieve in his career.
Haven't seen it mentioned, but last night was the third consecutive home match where the opposition has made midfield subs at half time. All three seemed to be a tactical response to us winning the midfield battle. Shows something is working.

It seemed pretty clear to me anyway... You're right, it was right in front of me and you could see and hear the ref tell Mbenza he had done it twice and so booked him. Mbenza booked, Billing to play Saturday.
