Love it when this old chestnut is rolled out by people who think they do know more about football just because they've coached Upperthong under 12's for a couple of seasons or some other such nothing role I’m your case it’s probably the bias then 😂 Or you’ve only been watching highlights. Bournemouth have bigger problems than Billing In my case it most certainly is the bias; I'm a typical Yorkshireman, I like my players to put some effort in and at least look like they care, not amble around most of the time expecting others to do the grafting. And you're also right, I have no interest whatsoever in watching a full 90 minutes of Bournemouth to study the finer intricacies of Billing's game. But like others have said, when I have seen him on the highlights where the opposition are scoring against them Billing is, more often than not, just ambling back looking like he doesn't have a care in the world.

Tbf I remember seeing him win one in the Everton penalty area for Town! I didn't go to that one. It was the one that landed square on his forehead from 2 feet out with no-one near him and both feet on the ground. Warwick Davies wearing an upturned dustbin would have scored it.

Billing is a very good footballer, the stats show this and has already been said, left footed, 'homegrown', tall...its a compelling mix. Most of our better performances in the Prem involved him. He's a top flight player all day long on talent.
Billing is also a complete whopper and not someone you want in a relegation battle. When the chips are down he'll disappear, give up and blame someone else. He's also a tool, as evidenced by his 5g virus peddling tweets and baiting of fans of the club who plucked him from a park field. If it wasn't for his crap attitude he'd have been a permanent fixture in our first team a lot earlier than he was, but he was too busy acting billy big bollocks at 18.
The two can be separated though, no need to pretend he's useless.

I might not be remembering so well but I only really remember him playing really well v Wolves away when him and Mooy were superb. And it was mainly Mooy, as it always was for the three seasons he was here! Without Mooy he never really performed. If Brighton go down Mooy should be on any teams shopping list but not so sure about Billing particularly when you factor in his downsides. The stats don't lie in terms of his appearances and goals either. Most PL teams (bar Town) will look at stuff like that when buying a player for millions.

No idea what his goal output has to do with anything, he's a DM. Hogg's scored 3 goals ever. Wouldn't be surprised if he pitched up at Palace.

Think that midfield 3 of Mooy, Hogg and Billing was easily the best part of our team in the prem and the only part that actually looked premier division quality in truth.
Billings a premier division standard player but thats doesnt mean he'll always play at that level. Theres plenty of players in the championship who also wouldnt look out of place in the prem. Certainly think Bornmuff are going down. Theyve got a terrible run in, even if they werent playing so badly right now, so imagine he'll be back at this level next season. Not sure whats happened there because they were looking pretty good early in the season.

Almost as overrated as Pritchard. He was actually rather good back here... www.skysports.com/football/brentford-vs-huddsfld/314178That game he was all over Town and he had a successful season goals-wise with 12 from 45 appearances, his most productive ever. Been all downhill since then, mind...

The only interest I have in Bournemouth's relegation battle is how much of Billing's total transfer fee Town stand to lose out on if they do go down. Brighton and Mooy's likewise.

They've had bad runs but always bounced back. Their standards have slipped slightly and they can't get it back. The PL has ground them down. Relegated by the intensity of it all.

The only interest I have in Bournemouth's relegation battle is how much of Billing's total transfer fee Town stand to lose out on if they do go down. Brighton and Mooy's likewise. I was told the up front bit of the fee was £8m with £2m dependent on staying up with another £1m linked to other success criteria. Mooys is significantly less money with just £500k. / £1m Linked to them staying up. In the round I think we got £10m for the pair with £2.5m / £3m dependent on staying up. We have saved a few quid on grant though! Although there is a % sell on.

Never seen a player have facts completely contradict the perception of him.

He certainly hasn't been banging the goals in. Then again, his team have struggled to score.

Player seen as ambling about half heartedly, but the stats showed he tackled more, ran further, cleared more, shot more, blocked more, won more aerial duals etc etc than any other midfielder. He has a languid style about him..think some just can't see past that.

I see Billing is not on the team sheet for the Spurs game....is he suspended or injured or ? For all his attributes he’s not one of the guys I’d like stood next to me in the trenches. Perhaps Eddie Howe has realised that his character is slightly flawed in that it doesn’t allow him to roll his sleeves up when the going gets tough. I may be wrong though and he may be injured. I wonder what his JSS reception will be like next season!

Howe has bought some shocking players at huge prices. Billing is far from his worst acquisition.
