It'll be awhile before it's apparent if this is a good move. I like it in theory but who knows what will occur.

First contact two years ago. Was that the time of reported interest in DW from Villa, or was it Wolfsburg? Wolfsburg

We might have made contact with a few possible replacements for Wagner 2 years ago and hes just been the one whos impressed since? Wouldn;t surprise me if Wagner had a big say in this appointment, especiall;y as it appears they knew he was leaving at the end of the season for a while.
Don;t know anything about him, but good luck to the guy.
relegation this season isn;t the end of our journey upwards. Its just a set back. Hopefully Seiwert is the man to take us on to the next stage of it.

1. The bloke deserves his own thread. 2. If the club were going to use him for the announcement of Jan Siewert then, albeit a little bit cringy, ok no problem but that's a piss poor effort from whoever filmed/directed that shower of shite (was it duncfoster ). T'was a good chance to do something really good/funny. Yeah, but we're not Man C or Liverpool who would have had a 30 sec intro with screeching cars, sunglasses and flashing images and then rolling credits afterwards saying it was directed by Randy Spunkmeister the famous film director... I reckon Martin could have a career in the soaps with that performance... I'm not knocking Martin at all. Just think it could have been done a lot better if they were going down that route.

Good for the club to highlight Martin from Wakefield's charity, fair play to him to do the video, even as a Man City fan!

In and amongst some surprisingly sensible comments on the Beeb, there's this one...
I'm a Bradford City fan. Some Bradford City fans don't like Leeds. I'm not like that - I support every team in Yorkshire apart from Huddersfield. Why? Our record signing at the time, Gordon Watson, was injured in a horror tackle by Town's Kevin Gray. Ironically his 1st game back from injury was as a sub v Huddersfield. All their fans sang 'You've only got 1 leg'. Pathetic, glad your going down :-)
Clearly they've forgotten about him trying to break the jaw of our lad a few mins prior...

Nah, I know you weren't... Would still have been quite a tough thing to put together at short notice and perhaps more annoyingly for some of the ITK posters on here, if it was opportunistic, that a Man C supporter knew about our new Mgr before they did...

Who is this Jan Siewert? Some information for you from Germany, who you get as a new coach. Biography: Former junior co-ordinator of the DFB, recruited as Bochum youth coach of Borussia Dortmund U23, where he had no easy job, a new team without bond, and 4 of the main regular players no longer there. In general, Siewert did a good job under these difficult conditions. He is known for shaping players. His playing orientation is more open-minded than Wagner's. Last year, he rejected an offer from the 2nd English league of QPR. Good luck and success, Jan Siewert.

“Given David’s success at Huddersfield Town, we knew that it was prudent to look to the future in case an offer came in that he couldn’t refuse
So the search is NOW on for Jan's successor

Siewart by name....seemingly masochist by nature!
Good luck to the guy. He's being dropped in at the deep end.....let's hope he's a powerful swimmer.

One thing that shouldn't be forgotten about is his age. Wagner was reasonably young in managerial terms & I like the fact we have a bloke who won't be on too different a wavelength to the players. He's had time to work his man mgmt skills as well so hopefully gaining their respect won't be an issue...
Bring it on - I can't believe he won't be doing all he can in the short term to salvage the season...
Also, very shrews of the club to have this only take a week to bring back some positivity to the place...
Only the dinosaurs on here will be underwhelmed by this appointment, but I think DW re-set a few of their views in his time here anyway, so hopefully 100% buy-in for the bloke...

Hoyle says that Jan has been on his radar for at least two years and that Wagner told them he wanted to leave at the end of the season, so we've been lining him up from the start. Fair play to Hoyle, he always had a plan.

Great defender, remember when we played Liverpool in the FA cup under Bruce and Gray went in hard on Owen in first 10 min, look on Owens face was a picture, he did naff all in the game after that as I’m sure he knew of Gray’s reputation. Enjoy League one and being our feeder club you sad Bradford b*****d! 😀👋

T'was a good chance to do something really good/funny. It was intended as a short bit of humour Jesus! I’m sure the new manager would have preferred to spend days in filming to satisfy your needs rather than getting on with the job he’s here for. Get a grip.

Dead ringer is old Martin from Wakefield. Anyway, tough run of gamee comung up but hopefully he finds a way to showcase some exciting football, restore some confidence in our team and give us something to celebrate. There is no pressure on him this season now, get his feet under the table ready to storm the championship.
