I see that the Huddersfield Ladies are playing away to Charlton Women tomorrow in the Women's FA Cup. Some of the teams involved have chosen interesting names for their lasses such as Crawley Wasps, London Bees, Millwall Lionesses and the Loughborough Foxes. Which is all well and good. There could have been some unfortunate choices I'm sure (not sure who decides these things) but let's thank our lucky stars that in this modern PC world we didn't end up with teams like Manchester Tarts, Bristol Titty and Croyden Crumpets. Anybody going to the game by the way?

Given that our heroes have adopted a dog, perhaps Huddersfield Bitches?

Good on em, don't watch that many games but the proliferation of the women's game in recent years is a good thing. Really looking forward to the World Cup this summer..

Noticed on Saturday it was Chelsea ladies v Birmingham women, seems odd that it's not uniform, all ladies or all women.
As for the standard of play I honestly think some of the outfield stuff is good and worth watching, I've seen some great goals, however hand on heart I've yet to see a good goalkeeper, even at international tournaments.

Agreed. I wonder if it is sensible when females are 15 cm shorter than males on average that the goals are the same size?

They have 8 year old boys playing in full size nets so I really can't see them making changes for women, while I agree with the sentiment it's not just the size of the nets with the women keepers they just don't seem at ease* there unlike the outfield players. * I was going to put at home but thought it would lead off at a tangent with talk of ironing and being in the kitchen etcetc.

Treid reading this thread but couldn't concentrate.... the sound of knuckles scraping across the floor is deafening.... Bit of an irrational response, all I've seen is some saying they don't watch it or aren't interested in it, there's nothing wrong with that. The standard is poor there is no doubt about that, no doubt it has improved but its still poor apart from a handful of internationals who people always cite with the 'look how good the women's game is' comments. Good virtue signalling though

Personally, I still buy into the concept of 'Lady' being a formal title. I'm not aware of any one of the Huddersfield 'Ladies' actually being a Lady. Nothing but a delusion of grandeur.

Are Birmingham women inferior to Aston Villa ladies per sa?

Its great so many girls and women are playing the game now. The 'professional' game is actually pretty watchable, as is any level really even fat blokes on a sunday morning. As said the only thing that constantly lets it down is the goalkeeping, which is often diabolical.
My only complaint really would be the amount of forced interest the mainstream media force on us. The amount of coverage it gets has no bearing whatsoever on the interest in it. Its all a bit PC. Womens teams get more coverage than most championship clubs, but even the top sides get crowds comparable to 2 or 3 divisions below the football league.

For a wannabe comedian, you seem to lack a sense of humour. Is your act about how offended you can be?

All the mainstream sports, Footy, Rugger and Cricket get mass coverage on the BBC news. Of the three, the football standard is the best comparatively.... Rugby and Cricket is not easy to watch. Tennis and Golf and Football I'm quite happy to watch the ladies play, but best of all Beach is Volleyball.

I like womens football especially International games. England have a decent squad and are very competitive. The football is of medium quality but will improve with time. Whats not to like.
If you want to mock im up for mocking scottish football 24/7 😂🤣 mens or ladies.
