We will be working hard on recruitment's we have people who are capable of finding and scouting any interests we have. I suppose the recruitment of Grant would suggest that this is true. All a bit faceless these days though. If we got a good guy in would he stay from experience i would say he would be off in no time.

I thought a holistic view was needed, as there's been lots of talk. So I've looked at the current squad, including first team level players out on loan, and given my verdict of what I would do. I've looked at our most prized players and reminded myself that we do not need to sell anyone we want to keep.
Jonas Lรถssl - Release Tommy Smith - Keep Terence Kongolo - Only sell for a break even fee ยฃ18m Jonathan Hogg - Keep Juninho Bacuna - Keep Philip Billing - Only sell for a minimum of ยฃ15m Elias Kachunga - Keep Aaron Mooy - Only sell for a minimum of ยฃ20m Adama Diakhaby - Keep Ben Hamer -Release/Sell/Disappear/Change the locks Joel Coleman - Keep Chris Lรถwe - Keep Karlan Grant - Keep Isaac Mbenza - Sign for a reasonable fee anything <ยฃ8m Danny Williams - Release Laurent Depoitre - Release Alex Pritchard - Keep Steve Mouniรฉ - Sell for any reasonable offer - ยฃ8m + Mathias Jรธrgensen - Sell for any reasonable offer - ยฃ5m + Christopher Schindler - Only sell for a minimum of ยฃ15m Jon Gorenc Stankoviฤ - Keep Abdelhamid Sabiri - Keep Florent Hadergjonaj - Sell for any reasonable offer ยฃ4m + Erik Durm - Renew contract (we have an option) Demeaco Duhaney - Keep Jason Puncheon โ Release/terminate loan Aaron Rowe - Keep Ramadan Sobhi - Sell for any reasonable offer ยฃ4m + Rajiv van La Parra - Sell for any reasonable offer ยฃ1m + Collin Quaner - Sell for any reasonable offer ยฃ500k + Ryan Schofield - Keep Lewis O'Brien - Keep Jack Payne - Sell for any reasonable offer ยฃ250k +
If we sell all of those suggested for reasonable fees on the understanding that we reinvest fees received we would have the following squad before any additions, plus a war chest of in excess of ยฃ60m (or weโd still have Schindler or Kongolo or Mooy etc)
Keepers:
Coleman Schofield
Defenders:
Smith Lowe Stankoviฤ Durm
Midfield:
Hogg Bacuna Pritchard Sabiri Rowe OโBrian
Strikers/Attackers
Diakhaby Grant Kachunga Mbenza
Plus any of the dozen players under contract we may or may not sell.
To all of the doom merchants โ this is a really good starting point. Itโs very easy to miss that. I really doubt weโll see Zanka, Schindler AND Kongolo โ weโll have one or two of those still. I also think Mounie is unlikely to go, plus RVLP and Collin will most likely be here too. Bear in mind that we donโt know who will be bankrolling us., but we could end up with ยฃ60m or more in transfer fees, wages off the books and parachute payments. We simply need to spend it well.
For me, Iโd be wanting a keeper (happy with Westwood if thereโs any truth to that rumour) an experienced championship level centre half, a creative midfielder to replace Mooy and a second striker. We could spend 30 million on those 3 and have money left, not to mention the fact we should use the loan market well.
Iโm optimistic.

Iโm optimistic. i'd allow coleman to go and bump schofield up to number 2, I think Payne is out of contract this summer so i'd allow him to move on, dont think he has ever really fit in here for one reason or another. Give Daly a proper shot in and around the first team, he's made it as far as the bench but the kid must have something about him. I'm in the group that feels if we are able to reach a good deal with danny williams then he should stay as he ran the midfield for Reading the other season and was the best player on the pitch in the final, although it wasn't hard. In terms of incomings, Westwood as goalkeeper wouldn't be bad, he'd give schofield a bit of time to continue to develop, I've liked the look of the Brentford keeper when i've seen them play, but i believe he is currently out injured. In regards to other players, I think like you said, we need to know who will be bank rolling us and what funds we have to play with. In january leeds looked set to sign daniel james from swansea for under ยฃ10 mil, but swansea pulled out at the last minute, now he has looked a very good player this season, but i would imagine that his price will have shot up by now. Sticking with the Wales theme Will Vaulks at Rotherham has looked the sort of midfielder we normally go for, seems to be quite an allround player and combative. He has had a very good season for them all things considered and i would honestly be looking at signing him

Grimโs quoted prices are perhaps a bit high but he is spot on, we have the makings of Avery good squad. The gulf in quality is huge as we drop a level. Lowe, Smith & Durm would be 3 of the best fullbacks in the division. Pritchard a leading number 10. Hogg, Williams or Mooy amongst the best midfielders. Even Kachunga is proven Champโ quality. Itโs an exciting time. If we find a system and let JS build a squad that suits it we may have a great season.

Looking at that we need a decent transfer window this time.

Intersting you'd keep Depoitre who has done nothing all season and you'd sell Mounie who at least tries to look like a footballer albeit not convincing at times. As I've stated before Mounie would be brilliant in the championship alongside Grant and think he is well worth keeping.

Deliberatley so, because if we're honest we neither need to sell nor do we want them to leave in an ideal world. With the exception of Mooy, I think all of the rest owe us something. Schindler has been patchy at best this year, we made Billing, Kongolo would be warming Monaco's bench if it weren't for us etc.

What's the obsession with durm? Is it because he's a world cup winner? He's bang average. I wouldn't be renewing his contract, he will be expensive.

Iโd let Williams go, donโt know what his wage would be after the relegation, but heโd still be a top earner whoโs hardly fit and not a young up and comer. Time to clean the deck iโm afraid, as much as he seems a good guy thereโs no way weโd be considering giving him a contract if he wasnโt already with us.

Might be worth the ยฃยฃยฃ though. Him and Grant with Pritchard just behind would be quite impressive in that league. We could have Messi, Ronaldo and Salah up front but unless we found a system to give them opportunities it would be pointless. Don't think we'd need the other 8 players if that was the case

The only way Smith would look good in the Championship is if we have 70% possession every game and barely have to defend. Probably wants out anyway with the unnecessary captain drama with Siewert.
As with others iโd definitely keep Williams. I also wouldnโt buy Mbenza.

I'll give this a go. Extremely difficult task without a) knowing the ownership and b) knowing which formation we'll play. For this exercise I'm assuming that we'll switch between a 4-1-2-3 and a 4-3-3. My rationale is that early on Sievert seemed intent on a 4-3-3 but, I believe, our personnel is more geared towards a 4-1-2-3 using a #6 and wingers. Ages are listed as of 1 July. Also assuming some loaned out and one will be loaned in.
Keiren Westwood (34) Bakary Sako (31) Scott Arfield (30) Jonathan Hogg (30) Chris Lowe (30) Danny Williams (30) Christopher Schindler (29) Aaron Mooy (28) Rajiv van la Parra (28) John Marquis (27) Tommy Smith (27) Elias Kachunga (27) Erik Durm (27) Mike van der Hoorn (26) Steve Mounie (24) Joel Coleman (23) Isaac Mbenza (23) Jon Gorenc Stankovic (23) Adama Diakhaby (23) Abdelhamid Sabiri (22) Fikayo Tomori (21) Justin Hoogma (21) Juninho Bacuna (21) Karlan Grant (21) Demeaco Duhaney (20) Paxton Pomykal (19) Ryan Schofield (19) Aaron Rowe (18) Matty Daly (18)
