Villa seem to want Kongola on the cheap, quoting £10m from one of their fans.......think again pal!!!. We’re in the box seat, with years left on his contract. If you want him, you’ll have to pay in excess of 18m imo.

Brilliant name. If we can't manufacture a decent chant out of that we should give up and go home. They do drink it in the jungle you know... ![thumbup](//storage.proboards.com/2448479/images/ULmTf1jwiiTrUdwPLEMP.gif)

Will need a left back hope they can sort one quickly. And a keeper. We could have Messi upfront and still lose with Hamer playing.

I still don't really get this witch hunt of Billing There's obviously some tattle and he's gone public with his concerns when he'd have been better advised to keep it private - it's probable other players share his frustrations but have not said them in the press. It's a sign of naivety IMO rather than anything more sinister. All players want to play at the highest level and if the right offer comes in he'll be off (like all the rest) Then on the other side there's the fact that his fellow teammates voted him young player of the season - which wouldn't happen if he was being a dick and letting everyone down Personally I still have a lot of time for the lad and wish him well if/when he goes He cost us nothing and has played a big part in two in the two best seasons in my life

Regardless of how big a prick Billing may or not be, the club have totally ballsed this up. Folk have very short term memories. At Christmas, Biiling was without doubt player of the season at that point and i’d estimate worth approx 20 million pounds. We are now talking about been delighted to get 10m. No matter who’s fault or how you dress it up the club have totally got this wrong. That lost 10m could make all the difference this season, all to prove a point. I’m sorry I must have missed it, when did anyone offer for Billing? we wouldn't know.

Nixon claiming half the championship clubs haven't got a pot to piss in this window? He's probably right. so makes it all the more important we get it spot on this season if we have aspirations of ever getting back up.

Nixon claiming half the championship clubs haven't got a pot to piss in this window? He's right.... Reading - struggling to pay wages apparently Leeds - have to sell to bring new in according to RL tonight. Brum - in turmoil financially. Charlton - for sale Boro/hull/wba/forest/derby - restructuring Preston / Blackburn / Luton - limited budgets. Football outside the top flight is in a real mess.

Ah, that's why half the comments on his tweet are Leeds fans claiming FFP needs scrapping.. Were they not around in 2004 when they nearly went bust? 🤔

We have the base of a decent championship squad but we need to get this transfer window right.

From all accounts it seems Kongolo is on mega money (even after the relegation clause), and now that we’re having to cut our cloth accordingly it’s in our best interest if we find an acceptable bid and move on even if we need to take a small loss. It pains me to say that as he’s going to be remembered as one of the best defenders we’ve ever had, and make many people’s all time town team in years to come, but having someone paid more than double the guy next to him is a problem in more ways than one.
The golden rule for me, would we have signed him in the championship? If the answer is no then he’s obviously ill fitting for what our current situation is. The faster we can revert back to a Championship club the better, and unfortunately that means saying goodbye to some of these players that we’ve enjoyed seeing in blue and white.
Mooy for me is going to be the killer, i’ll probably never see a player that good in a town shirt again, but similarly he needs to go i’m afraid.

The club could always loan him & get him back IF we gain promotion?

If an offer near to what we paid for him comes then it’s a no brainier to accept it but his salary and contract will be accounted for within the budgets over the next 2-3 years so there’s no real issue there, that’s why people at the club have said they are in good shape financially and don’t have to sell if they don’t want to, although I reckon some on here would say they are saying that so the club don’t attract stupid offers they feel they’ll have to accept. If the right offers don’t come along and we have Mooy and Kongolo along with Schindler then i’ll be extremely pleased come the 1st game of the season especially when adding some young and hungry players from divisions lower down.
