I noticed yesterday a few posts about a possible takeover in the Man U thread. Thought first of all it needed its own thread but also wondered if the malaise at the club is due to this. No Sporting Director as yet, uncertainty over Siewart's position. Maybe it's a case of waiting for the deal to be completed

Dean Hoyle has earned our respect to make any announcement when he feels it is appropriate. Rumours and gossip don't help him or our club

Hope the takeover talk is rubbish. When you've been as ill as Dean Hoyle was it must make you re-evaluate things and what's really important in life. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's looking to get out and actually enjoy his life with his family rather than the pressures of running a football club full time and all the shite that comes with it

Dean has said sveral times he's prpared to sell up if the right buyer comes along, and it was reported not long ago he'd recruited an agency to find a buyer..so there's clear intent there. Maybe the time to do it was last summer after the high of escaping relegation, now we don't look so attractive and the price he'll get will be less no doubt as the club looks in disarray. It seems inevitable it will happen though, sooner rather than later once dean has made his mind up. I fully respect Dean's decision, and understand why he would sell up. I'm ok with that, what he's done is amazing and maybe in a few years he can relax and watch the team in the PL from the stands and enjoy it as a fan again...

I would be not at all surprised if we had new owners come the start of next season.

Advanced talks apparently. Don’t know in what context whether it’s investment or a full takeover.

Hope the takeover talk is rubbish. Why? Have you ever thought that a takeover might be what the club needs right now. Hoyle might actually think he’s taken us as far as he can.

Who would buy a club like Town? We're not a big city club. It always amazes me that Leeds haven't been taken over. OK they are a bit of a joke club but have massive potential given the size of the place.

I’d imagine DH achieved the dream. Very hard to be quite as motivated to do it again given his health issues, vibrant young family etc.
I expect him to leave like a hero over the summer. Life President material.
Just remember how he negotiates- news comes out of the blue once a deal is done. His initial takeover had no publicity prior to being announced from what I recall.
I know nothing other than that the guy is a legend.

Spoke to a variety of fans/friends yesterday, all unconnected but this seemed to be the prominent talking point. As it stands we are still quite attractive as get parachute payments good support and a few playing assets to sell on, good exposure as an ex prem team at least for next 2 years as we try get back. Can't fault deano if he does sell he has engineered memories I never thought I'd see, town in prem up against the best.

If I was buying, I'd definitely pay more for Dean as a GK than Hamer

Best scenario imo would be, someone buy the club, but then let DH run it, similar to Spurs with Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy.

On DH’s statement last week he was stressing the need for ‘stability’. I wondered at the time if this was bigger picture stuff: a stable CEO able to commit 100% effort to the club (free from health or other issues)? A stable board with a DoF or Sporting Director in place? New owners offering long term stability to replace the takeover speculation (wonderfully self-propelling!)
At the same time SJ has taken on a second job working for Leicester CCC...is he preparing to spread his wings if new owners come in?
We feel in limbo from top to bottom at present. I really hope we don’t suffer a directionless summer with no mid/long term strategies in place.

Even if it's to a group or person who has a few billion and wants to invest heavily in the squad and club in general? You'd be absolutely mad to not want that

I've no idea what will happen. The consolation is that if Dean Hoyle does sell I am sure it will be to someone he trusts to look after the club.

I think the clubs always been for sale. DH is looking for right offer and custodian to move the club forward.
We'll miss Hoyle when he's gone

Or Ross Wilson for that matter, ambition wasn't here for them with the clubs player recruitment policy. They had better offers and better player profiles to scout/aquire. He's not beyond criticism is Sir Dean but he works to his budget and thats that

Our current fan base, in come streams and potential isn't that levels of of the likes of Norwich or Southampton. The two sides the previous DOFs went to. We are on a par with the size of Bournmouth. But they spent a fair packet to get where they are, an established premier league side. They didn't spend within their means but had a wealthier owner than Hoyle.

Could of course be complete BS made up by Town fans putting two and two together and getting eight then passing it on as gospel.
Most rumours among town fans turn out to be BS. Always been the same.
