Wasn’t good enough when we let him go.
He has developed since then and become a decent player. Would he have developed the same way if he had stayed? No, of course not.

There's another way to look at this. For all how competitive and relentless the Championship is it is definitely a step down from the Premier League. Norwood had ability on the ball but not the outstanding quality that will take them forward. Carney at Fulham will once again be a star in the Championship and I rate him better than Norwood. Look at the defending of teams like our friends up the road, Derby and WBA...not great and theyre top 6. The chance to regroup is there for us if we can take it. Absolutely. A decent manager could have us in the top 6. We’ve actually got a goalscorer for once.

Norwood always was brilliant to be fair.. For a total of about four games a season.
Nothing against him but we didn't make a mistake letting him go in the slightest. The only mistake might've been turning down Celtic if they were ever interested for anything like the prices that were rumoured!

I remember playing away at Ipswich not long after he started and commenting that he was potentially going to be the best midfielder I'd seen in a town shirt up for that point. Real Rolls Royce of a player. Unfortunately he never quite hit the heights I expected of him at Town but he always had it in to go off and make a very good career and I'm glad he has. Now we have lost Mooy and Billing he would also be the first choice pick in our current central midfield.

Hes certainly progressed a lot since leaving us, but at the same time always thought he was underrated here. Silky type of player but got it in the neck because he didn;t 'get stuck in' enough, in a Dave Cowling way.

Clayton and Norwood would walk into our team just now. So would Coady, Lolley and a few others weve sold over recent years. But theyre not our players now so its not really an issue.
