Can’t see Phil making such a big move straight away, especially with Jan scraping a few results together the past two games. However, would love to take him now - think he’s got all the qualities needed to stabilise use and get us back up. He can kidnap Knockaert & Dunk too if he wants. ....Knockaert I'd go for (wages ??), brilliant attacking player....but Dunk ?? ...he'd struggle to get in Emley's team.... |

It’s worth remembering that if Cardiff has won just one more game it would have been Brighton going down instead of them, despite them spending peanuts in the summer (£30m was it?). I wonder what might have been if Sala hadn’t had his awful accident?
I always liked Chris Houghton and I’m sure he will get another job easily enough, seems a nice bloke and a decent manager. Like DW, though, maybe not quite up to the task of competing at PL level on a regular basis with an out-gunned team.

Kick It Out have "unreservedly apologised" to Brighton following comments made by its Head of Development Troy Townsend over the dismissal of Chris Hughton.
The anti-racism body added in a statement it was also sorry for any inference from Townsend's comments that Hughton's sacking was "linked in any way to his ethnicity".

If I owned a football club I’d be very reluctant to hire a BAME manager, knowing that if the day comes where I may have to sack him I will be accused of racism. I do wonder if clubs are often reluctant to hire black managers because they could be accused of racism if they ever have to part company. |

I think Leeds could be hiring pretty soon - not sure how the Beeston mob would take to Chris Hughton - he would be far too advanced in the evolutionary scale for them?

Derby & the Blades?  Derby aren't going to get past Leeds and Id expect Sheff utd to at least compete until the end especially if they can keep Sharp fit. Makes a big difference having a player who knows how to score a goal... we're proof of that. Its unusual to have 2 clubs relegated so early, maybe even unique for the prem? Yeah, Derby have no chance of getting past Leeds...  |
