Dont quite understand what happened to depoitre.. He looked a beast at times last season.. Outmuscled harry maguire to score v leicester.. Great finish at watford.. Nice header at southampton.. And of course the bulldosing run and goal at chelsea.. Last seasons depoitre would cause havoc in the championship... This season hes looked like a sunday lg player. .frightened of the ball..uninterested.. Shame🥴 All went down hill after his hair transplant.. he just doesn’t glide through the air the same anymore..

How can folk quibble about releasing Williams? He virtually never played. In my brain, I still picture him in a Reading shirt. He can't do all that modelling AND play lots of footie games lads, come on, give him a break

AKA the Wayne Bridge syndrome - ÂŁ5m per year to sit on Man City's bench - I reckon I and many others could do that job for a fraction of the price

Expect us to do what we did 3 seasons ago & work the loans system. Long summer ahead whatever happens. I think the fish and chips thread might be worth bookmarking... Not sure we would and it would be wise not to. Having to replace the loanees in our first season in the prem put us at such a disadvantage that I don’t see the value in it if you’re planning on getting promoted. Don’t mind one or at the most two.

Three of the five players we had on loan during the promotion season were still with us at the start of our first Premier League season. Ward was replaced by Lossl, who I would argue was better than Ward. If we'd signed Ward permanently the summer before, I doubt we'd have been able to sign Lossl without selling Ward. The only one we didn't keep or upgrade was Izzy Brown. Only Kachunga might have been available to us as a permanent transfer instead of a loan at the start of the promotion season. The loan market may allow us access to players not willing to sign permanently for a Championship club. Tammy Abraham, Aaron Mooy, and Harry Wilson spring to mind. If we can get players that good on loan for next season, without risking squandering our parachute payments, I'll be all for it.

When we got promoted we had Mooy, Ward, Brwn and Palmer all go back to their parent club. That’s four players you need to sign just to stand still if you get promoted. I’d rather we signed some Karlan Grants at £2m apiece than get Chelsea youngsters for a season and pay them £10k a week in wages. Yes we get a good player for a year, but we spend time developing someone else’s player rather than developing our own. Would like to see us invest in squad depth with our parachute payments, the sort of upcoming players that should be ready to step up with us if we get promoted.

Danny Williams - Has started 12 premier league games in 2 seasons - Why should be offer him a new deal exactly? Where was he when we needed him this season? Injured. Too many remembering 2 games - play off final, Man U home.
Payne - Was only good enough IMO as back up to play mid week against the bottom third championship clubs. Couldn’t get in relegated league 1 Bradford team back end of last season. We aren’t going to play with a 10. Where would he play?
