Great interview on talkshite last week with Darren Moore. Don’t think the sycophantic Jim White expected the answer from Moore.
“ So Darren. What’s your take on CH being sacked and the lack of BAME managers in the game.”
“ It’s nonsense Jim. There are plenty of opportunities for those who are qualified. I was given a chance and will get another one. What worries me more is the lack of British managers in the top flight and its only getting worse”

Everyone considered Sol Campbell entitled for wanting to be hired at a decent level as a manager when he first started trying to about 10 years ago. Got his break this season, and pulled Macclesfield out of near certain relegation. Compare that to his younger England team mates. Gerrard- hired straight to Rangers, Lampard- hired straight to Derby County, Terry- hired straight to Aston Villa as assistant with clear designs on the manager role. These are all within a couple of years of retirement at most. Maybe Campbell had a point? The sample size is far too small to draw any conclusions. Paul Scholes is the same age as Sol and a similar level of player for club and country. Like Sol he’s also been busy doing other stuff since retiring from playing, and only got his first chance this year, at the same level that Sol has started at...despite having some experience at Man Utd supporting Ryan Giggs on his coaching CV. Maybe the lack of high level opportunities for red haired people should be investigated...I can only think of Sean Dyche. Maybe Burnley are scared to sack him in case they’re lambasted? Quite right too, us ginners deserve special treatment 😁

Its not about skin colour, they have to be good enough....end of story. Exactly. If Cardiff had sacked Warnock, would Age Concern be complaining it's anti pensioner? Or its anti shit facelifts

I'm not saying that having an open political affiliation automatically discounts you from consideration, and I am aware that some less than savoury individuals have made the transition into management sooner (I will refrain from saying easier as I don't know anything about Campbell's opportunities). But I don't think this enough to suggest racial bias in this instance. You do however raise a valid point: charisma gets you further in football. Add that to Campbell's melting pot and I think there's a very valid argument as to why he maybe didn't succeed earlier. I think we have to be honest however and accept that racism does exist in football, this season amongst others has highlighted this amongst fans. And post Brexit, there has been a spike in documented racially aggravated cases. So its not difficult to accept that the odds are that there are racist persons in positions of power and that they exist in football. But just like fans, this doesn't mean that every person of power is racist and therefore I don't believe that the majority of clubs are racist to the extent that will not employ a BAME manager. FYI - it is my opinion that Vincent Kompany will never have this issue. Though he may turn out to be a shit manager. Has it? You dropped that in like its a fact. How has brexit shown that? Maybe it is not conclusive as you point and I strayed from balance. But, in short, statistically the number of recorded events, both football related and otherwise, have risen dramatically post decision. Leeds has seen almost a 1000% rise in cases directed against the Muslim faith. But perhaps racism always existed, Brexit simply gave the right a voice or new vigour. But I don't think it is plausible to argue the two are mutually exclusive. Make of that what you wish. You may choose to argue another case. However, that is off-topic and I don't wish to derail the thread - I have amended my original post. As you were.

Fair enough Although i can't let this drop without pointing out that muslims aren't a race, or that 'post brexit' hasn't and probably never will exist. Can't see why Brexit ( leaving a European trade block,, controlling european immigration ) would have anything to do with the reported rise of cases against muslims anyway. Suggest there are far more likely reasons for that.

Anyone talking of 'taking acting lessons' should never be employed ever again in any capacity.
I notice you waited until wtd wasn't around before saying that! HE did cross my mind.

Had to laugh at the heskey piece. So he’s not qualified and doesn’t apply and it’s blatant racism stopping him getting the job. ??? Darren Moore much more reasonable debate as I suspect you’d get if you interviewed Chris houghton. Talkshite and the rest of the media simply stirring shit.

Its always been there. Its just given some folk the confidence to liberate their "inner Moseley" again, if you had ever met a real live one you might see that ours are utter amateurs in the 'race/religion' game.. when you find a daft bloke in a football shirt who has taken out a whole small village of women and kids with a rusty pole and a spade, comment on racists/real hate etc.. its always been there, its always been here but we have not been actively cultivating it at firesides and in schools and in places of for some time and we have lagged a bit behind.. As it is Spain and Italy will move to the right with or without our sad version of an 'ultra right movement'..they won't let us join in now, they wont even let our lot go to meetings.. Black managers in Catalonia or Turin? ?

I spent an evening with Brian Deane once....he was an absolute gent and good company. He decried his lack of opportunity but i pointed out the were very few top jobs and a lot of candidates. Start low and prove yourself.

Talking about Chris Hughton, this is brilliant from Mick McCarthy.
