So many poorly delivered passes and a general lack of composure all round. They're both just whacking it in the general direction of the forwards as it gets past the halfway line. Ridiculous that Kane is still on Just said to the wife. Its just a shame that VAR was not used in the Champions League final to show that the handball against Spurs was a clear and obvious error by the referee

Shaqiri didn't play for Watford. I think he's saying Shaqiri was watching the game which effectively relegated Stoke (his team at the time.) |

Yes it was a rubbish match but
I can't remember Forest dazzling us with their skills when they snook past malmo . A great fest but I can't remember it being a sizzler when they beat Hamburg
Nor villa when when they beat Munich. Memorable only for the young keeper coming on.
Liverpool Bruge 78 was a snorefest, as was Liverpool Roma six years later
Man Utd were complete horseshit until the last minute in 99.
Was man utd Chelsea a bundle of fun in 2008 ? Or Chelsea Bayern in 2012 ? I'm struggling to summon up any moments bar the penalties
It's a final .. finals tend to be shit. Any player contesting the above games will give not one shit about that, nor will the fans
Liverpool have won the European Cup.. an excellent achievement. It goes down in the record books and that's all that matters to them

Disappointing game, but Spurs surely were the instigators of their own downfall. Dallying around at the back for 88 minutes, going nowhere, safety passes back to the keeper (how many?)..Ok, it was 'measured' football, trying to draw Liverpool forward, but hell's teeth, you're 0-1 down and less than 20minutes to go, then you're 0-2 down and decide then, at last, with 2 mminutes left to get it forrad... They never gave themselves a chance with that peformance. Reminded me of us under DW, loads of possession (in our own half), but lost.

Having all four finalists in the 2 European comps from the English league is pretty impressive considering the footballing juggernaut of Man City wasn't one of them.

Disappointing game, but wasn't really expecting both sides to be firing on all cylinders in temperatures initially approaching 30°C. Glad it only lasted 90 minutes and didn't drag on into extra time.
Great that Liverpool got a major trophy from this season, and for Jürgen Klopp. As a German, I'm sure he's proud about being able to give something back to the city after the controversial sinking of the Lusitania in 1915 (that's what one German magazine was suggesting anyhow).
Don't want to make this victory about pies, but fittingly, I'm sure there'll be an appropriate new pie named after him (many German pie-makers suffered reprisals in Liverpool as a result of the sinking).

First half was dour as hell. Thought second half was a decent watch overall.
Much like last wednesdays final.
Very harsh pen, though can see why ref gave it and wasn't such a clear cut error that VAR was likely to change his decision.
Spurs probably the better side on the night, but as we know so well, you don;t score, you dont win.

Watching Spurs last night was like watching Town for the past 12 months. Plenty of possession in their own half, and Kane doing a damn good rendition of Mounie. Liverpool were hardly any better to be honest, but hey,
they walked away with the silverware. Hardly a spectacle for such a prestigious competition.
