Mr Hoyle added: “I have run a full sales process and there was serious interest in the Club from around the world. Appointing the correct successor is as important to me and my legacy as everything else I have achieved. "I have chosen Phil not just because he is an astute business man with strong desire and determination to succeed, but because as ‘one of our own’ he will always have the Club’s best interests at heart. He’s a Town fan and he really gets what this Club is all about. Fair enough but we didn’t hear about any of these other buyers did we? I don’t agree with Deans comments either - not about being an astute businessman, or this parochial nonsense about ‘one of our own’. That’s more of a soundbite to appeal to and reassure the fans. It doesn’t appease me. His background is in the grubbiest sector- personal injury of a horrid grubby sector of the economy. People like Phil make money from other people’s misfortune and anxiety. He’s not a businessman who’s actually ‘created’ anything. Ive read up on this guy and I don’t like how he comes across at all. I don’t even want to be involved with someone like that at the helm of the club. Joe, you are quite entitled to your opinions of our new Chairman and his business dealings but I can't see how he can NOT be described as one of our own when he (along with several of our posters) was a member of the Young Terriers back in the day - I really don't know what you'd have to do to be considered one of our own in Town terms if that doesn't qualify you. And obviously all that is before his commercial and sponsorship involvement.

Something about this whole deal along with things he’s said, and apparently suggesting, behind the scenes just leave a funny taste.

That because he’s a fan he will be good for the club etc. It doesn’t automatically correlate.

Does anybody really believe that he didn’t know the rules? As an agent he was supposed to guide players, Southport signed a player under investigation for betting offences, Mr H will have signed a declaration at Southport that he hadn’t breached the rules. It just shows the incompetence of the rule makers and enforcers that he’s been allowed to get away with it.

Everything you have contributed to this forum, since joining, is to criticise him or his actions, making snidey little comments to cast doubts over his suitability to run a club. Do you have anything positive to balance this out with or is it all negative? If the latter, then that is fine. Just maybe put all of your issues with him in one post rather than drip-feeding over many little posts.

If we're talking of preying on people's emotions is greeting cards any better? It's bit of thin card that sits on a mantelpiece for a few days then gets put in landfill.

The new seats at Southport look nice, the main stand roof doesn’t leak any more and his hair is lovely.

Everyone heard the first time .. is there any reason you're still spending time on a Huddersfield forum ? Is the Southport forum that bad ?
