Thinking about past shirts got me thinking about ownership.
In the time that I have been old enough to really know about town I remember.
Phil (tbc) Dean Ken David Barry
But I don't know any further back.
Who actually owned town prior to Barry Rubery and his promises and how did we get from the £1 share issue in the 1910 days to where we are today, is there a time line anywhere?

I think a consortium of locals owned Town before selling to Barry Rubery. From memory they included Malcolm Asquith, Geoff Headey, David Taylor and Terry Fisher. All of them took a turn at being chairman though I think there were others whose name I forget.

My sister was mates with his daughter then they suddenly upped and off to the Isle of Man Problem is, you're trying to remember the name of Chairmen before the internet days, before such a thing became celebrity/twat status in equal measure... The measure of a Chairman nowadays goes something like this. Twat, pillock, but invests massively into the club = legend (for clarity, not putting DH in that bracket, hopefully people will get the point) Philanthropist, but invests with common sense = pillock... We've probably had some Chairmen in the past, who, from a doing their best for the club, have been equal to DH. But as DH has pumped a few £m & we've had some PL exposure, the guy is a legend. He's absolutely up there in our history, but it does sort of suppress the efforts of some previous stewards who were doing their utmost for the club...

So if my calculations are correct, he's quite old..

I'm sure Graham Leslie had a stint as Chairman? He was on the board that had the vision for the new stadium...

If I got to 83 I wouldn't mind looking as sprightly. Got more hair than me too.

There was always an unclear definition of owners and chairman...I don't think just one person owned us til Hoyle, there always seemed 4/5 with different percentages.
