There should be an: "I appreciate it for what it is, which is the highest level of women's football in the game; I do not expect it to be at the same level as the men's World Cup in the same way I don't expect non-League football to be played at the same level as Premier League football" option.

Think it's great, you've got to get over the skill factor and just embrace the competition, last nights Oz v Brazil was brilliant, everything you want, goals, excitement , controversy... I can get excited about many sports so maybe I'm different, hockey, ice hockey, cricket, rugby...never mind the quality, feel the width...

I watched a bit of the Norway France game and I thought it was ok. It was entertaining for the 20 minutes of it I saw. Thought the penalty decision was terrible and was made even with the help of VAR so if anyone expects VAR to reduce controversies I am not so sure it will.
Overall I don't care about it but I don't think its as bad as a lot of people make out. At the same time I won't be making any changes in plan to watch a game either.

In an unrelated aside, I stayed in the Bird In Bush in Elsdon a few weeks back in the middle of a multi day ultrarunning race, it was fantastic, some of the best beer I’ve ever had, really good food, really quite excellent hosts and support staff, and the locals were all incredibly nice and chatty...I’d happily live there and have it as my local if it weren’t so far from everywhere!! I don’t think I’ve ever been in a pub before where there’s two young girls sitting on comfy chairs in front of a roaring fire doing GCSE revision because “it’s quieter than at home because of a new baby sister”, and getting help from a guy at the bar on their understanding of Hooke’s Law, meanwhile some random bloke chatting to me about the Blyth Tall Ship coming back to Blyth the next day after a 10 week training mission where they’ve sailed all round England ahead of an Antarctic expedition in August. Utterly fascinating place to be! You don’t get company like that in the Crescent 🤷♂️🤣 |

It wasn't a penalty at elite level, club level, Sunday league level, school level, playing on the Rec after school level. It clearly wasn't a fucking penalty. And VAR and the ref gave it. |

That is simply pathetic from a footballer. I am a 57 year old, fat bloke. I KNOW i would have saved four or 5 of those....and i was not a keeper and a pub player.
