My name is Ryan and I am currently studying at Cardiff University. During the summer months of 2019, I have to complete a dissertation. For this I have decided to research how football supporters travel to football games. As a result of this I have produced a survey on the matter and will be extremely grateful if you can complete it for me. It will take less than 5 minutes. Here is the link 4eyes.io/s/79B6Z/ and thanks for your time.

Coach, train, car, walk, fly. Can’t think of much else. That dissertation is going to be less than 100 words.

But seriously, thinking back to last season, most Town fans traveled reluctantly. Hope that helps.

Done it, but what a pile of crap it is, especially the latter sections. Where does it ask WHY I choose to use that mode of transport? I have recently moved from Mordor Mansfield to deepest, darkest Lincolnshire and my route is now 88 miles door to door; do you honestly think that I could use a tram? Or peddly bike? Or walk?!!! I don't give a damn if it's environmentally friendly or not - it's the only way that I can get there and back without wasting hours and hours of my days. I do enough of that as it is, watching the bloody games! Harrumph!!!!

You might give a damn if this is a ph.d dissertation designed to point out the carbon footprint football is imprinting on the planet. This chap might be starting an academic argument for getting football banned in the next 50 years or so!!

Home games, train. Away games, I often wonder when we arrive how I got there.

Living in Poland i fly to most games. My lass was upset tonight, she genuinely sees her two degrees as a complete waste of time (marketing and perfumery). Wishes she had been a doctor. Sad thing for me is i was forced, as the smartest kid in the class, to leave at 15 for the mills. Uni students and mature students still get the pension the same time as me....yet i started work 10 years earlier....a bloody con trick. Numbers should be limited.

I've done your survey but it would probably make sense to ask how far people travel to home games. People's options can be determined by how far they have to travel. My round trip is 130 miles - cycling or walking isn't an option.

Done it but the quality and depth of the questions could be better, particularly for a dissertation project.

You won't travel to games by tram because, sorry to point out the bleeding obvious, you don't have a bloody tram network in Lincolnshire, there is barely a train network either but if you lived in Nottingham or Manchester or Blackpool even you might use a tram to get to games because it might well be a convenient method of transportation simply because that option is there to you. I honestly don't get what you're ranting about, basically what you're saying is your only option is to drive, so just say that.

Marketing & perfumery, didn’t even know you could do a degree in perfumery? And you left school at 15 to work in the mills? What century were you born in?!? Can’t get the Hovis ad music out of my head now fella

Agreed, I’m 57 and left school before my 16th birthday to start in a mill near Crosland Moor. I left when I was 18 to join the Royal Air Force.

When I left school at 15 I had two options, engineering or mills, mind you they'd only recently stopped sending children up chimneys.

Can’t get the Hovis ad music out of my head now fella I assure you you can do a degree in anything...people have studied Coronation Street for example. My lass is Hungarian not Polish the way. Aye, i was 15 and i was offered 4 jobs WITHOUT an interview. The schools were in contact with businesses back then and the businesses wanted the prize kids. Suit and tie and in the office at James Sykes's in Milnsbridge. That was summer 1978. One day a week at Tech and extra night classes in maths. Left home at 16...as soon as i could. 150 weavers when i started there....4 when i left a year later. It just died. As for the Hovis ad. Yes, i remember delivery boys in shorts, hobnail boots on cobbles, men working with horses and the ubiquitous flat-cap.
