I was very happy that the small group of teens were to shut it! After constantly singing negative songs about Town in the first part of the game
A songbook of 'we're shit and we know we are', 'we're on our way, on our way to lge 1 etc' and so on.
The team were not playing bad, breaking down in some situations and got caught with an overlap for Rochdale's goal.
I was very happy someone told them straight 'we're not shit, we're doing alright!'
Being negative about our own team is pointless, counter-productive. After all we are trying for a positive new start under Jan and the vast majority of fans what to put last season behind them and get behind the team again.
Thankfully after the intervention the small group focused on more positive or anti-leeds songs.

There was a group at the back around half way line. There was a cameraman taking pictures in the second half of the fans and they were singing to him. |

We are talking about the same group, I was to the left side of them and didn't notice the camera's. I missed that. The young group needed their heads cracking though. Singing so negatively when my feeling is the club, supporters, players, everyone wants to get a positive feeling and mindset going. It wasn't as if Town had been playing bad either. I overload lead to a goal, but the Huddersfield were untroubled and pretty decent expect for the final ball. That was a bit forced and broke down for the first 40 mins. Its pre-season too. It is not like 3 weeks out the team is going to be the finished article. Singing to put your own team down though. totally baffles me. |

Cut them some slack they were probably just joining in with the hilarity of the day.
We came dressed as a pissed up stag do on its way to Ibiza so how can you expect them to take it seriously?
The boys were just taking the piss out of us all good natured fun!

I'm sure when I was a kid and bottom of division 3 me and my mates supported the team. They'll be Liverpool supporters before you know it.

I saw one gangly youth and his possee of spotty youths proudly post a sticker on the wall in the concourse. It said "South Stand Ultras". That made me smile more than the "kit prank".

Yeh - they sang all through the game; young lads having a sing with added ‘bantz’ and with humour, starting out with: 🎶 Our kit is f****n’ s**t, our kit is f****n’ s**t....🎶 As the players ran on the pitch The only bit of negativity was after their first goal with the league 1 stuff - self-aimed irony! Older guy sat in front of me had a whinge and moan about getting behind the team and stop being negative. Their retort: 🎶He’s going to cry in a minute, cry in a minute 🎶 😉 Seriously - the young lads sang all game with one even doing a full WAHLS verse on his own. They started the Kachunga chant during the injury break which he acknowledged. They pulled out the full range of chants including the Hadergjonaj one which we haven’t heard for a while. Full renditions of a team of Andy Booths. On and on for the full game, none stop with about 5-10 minutes after the goal being a bit tongue-in-cheek negative. Singing the Hef song followed by; 🎶He’s got more points than us🎶 Did make me chuckle as did the 🎶We’ve got school in the morning 🎶 I get we need to back the team and yes it was really hard last season and we need to start afresh but come on, let the lads have their fun - made the atmosphere pretty good last night as we all watched aghast as they actually ran out and played in that kit! |

After all we are trying for a positive new start under Jan and the vast majority of fans what to put last season behind them and get behind the team again. Thankfully after the intervention the small group focused on more positive or anti-leeds songs. Town fans were negative all last season. It was bad on the pitch granted but it was worse in the Kilner bank- where I sat- people leaving after conceding, leaving at half time, players getting dogs’ abuse. A LOT of very recent fans and lack of any kind of togetherness. The game has changed & not for the better. At least we had that season run to promotion and the season we stayed up to remember fondly. |

I was sat right in front of them with my lad and they didn't bother us. Harmless lads having abit of fun and some of their chants were quite humorous.
It was all tongue in cheek banter.
