Anyone else see the Examiner tweet this morning saying that Town will be announcing new sponsorship for two of the stands ?
I think they accidentally released it as the link to the page just said 'Ooops page not available'.
Town won't be happy with that !

They put a big sign on the side of the Riverside yesterday so its no secret. I can't remember who it is and had never heard of them, its one of those random firms that like to sponsor football stands for some reason!

Working class stand. Away end. Unfinished end. Discerning and good looking fans stands. Am in’t working class stand. I’m not discerning enough and definitely not good looking. I always have this idea that my well to do neighbour whom I sometimes walk down with is smugly thinking “That’s it, you go round to the pauper stand while I go through the 24 carat Gold turnstile to the luxury and grandeur of The Riverside stand, and take my place on my own thrown.”

I'm sure the old sponsors are happy with the years free sponsorship they've had with their names being printed on roughly 15,000 season cards that were sent out last week!

It just brings everything down to the lowest common denominator. Rumour has it somebody was spotted with a tattoo and piercings last season and I personally saw a youngster joining in with the south stand and slapping one of the nice cardboard fans they supply us, he was making a right racket.

I'm sure the old sponsors are happy with the years free sponsorship they've had with their names being printed on roughly 15,000 season cards that were sent out last week! The benefit is all made up funny money and sponsorship has next to no value at all. Am amazed that pretty much every ground is fully loaded with sponsors to be honest, especially where clubs don’t directly own stadiums like at Town. The value of Fantastic Media etc sponsoring a stand is presumably that they become approved or preferred suppliers to the clubs, rather than it being a real advertising opportunity to potential customers. I mean, I’m in the Abzorb stand which I think has carried the name for the last 12 months, and I had literally no idea what they actually do until I googled them just now and discovered they’re one of those companies that rebrands some of my own companies services into the SME market where the value is far too low for what we ourselves would bother getting involved in. There’s not a single Town fan who has seen the Abzorb branding on the stand who will have gone to them for business. However, the football club maybe pays a few thousand less for its 1Gb short haul data service between the ground and Canalside than it might otherwise do...and that’s worth a few logos slapped on a stand. (Even though I could definitely have arranged the exact same service for less money AND left the stand available for further sponsorship if we as a company were directly into that kind of low level business 🤷♂️) I thought Abzorb sold medical grade mattresses or something!
