Good question. Where the hell is VLP? Why what the hell do you think he is going to do. Retain possession of the ball. Keep the opposition at bay for the occasional breather by carrying the ball upfield and maybe getting fouled. That's precisely what he is good at and precisely what we needed in the 2nd half yesterday.

I'd love to see how he responds (his tone as well has "insight") to some really uncomfortable questions. I think that would tell us a lot about his character. He's getting an easy ride at the moment in terms of being made accountable. Has Oggy ben told to take it easy on him?
I have a hunch he'd really crack under some tougher questioning.

I thought that we retained the ball better and played the better football in 2016/17 in the Championship when RVLP was playing. I'm presuming that you are referencing the EPL seasons, when I feel that we didn't keep the ball or play particularly well for very long, especially last season.

Before Mooy and a few others got injured we were playing some good stuff last season we just lacked the quality up front. When we started the season we tried playing with wingers and we never got going and it was awful Wagner saw the problem and got the best out of the players we had.

Not on Saturday we didn't. I can get the argument he shouldn't be played last year. No question in my mind we'd have been better with him in the team so far this season. Fair enough if you disagree.

Not playing with wingers over the Xmas period was the reason we went down. Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley and Fulham were all poor performances with little created in absolutely massive games. Our best performance in that period was against Man Utd where we actually created chances. We played with wingers that day.

Thats when we lost our best midfielders and we never recovered. The best football we played in the Premier league was just before that.

We recorded more points per game with VLP in the team than out of it last season. We came away with more than zero points reward in 60% of his appearances, he’s probably actually our most lucky player of last season to have in the squad in terms of being on the pitch when we collected points (where Bacuna is probably the unluckiest).

I would imagine Oggy realises the guy is a human being and he doesn't want to hang him out to dry live on radio. I'm far from his biggest fan but the guy isn't doing a shit job on purpose and doesn't deserve to be shafted live on the radio. I agree if pushed I could see him exploding, he never looks far off. I suspect his temperament isn't ideal for effective man management at this level and that may be the biggest issue. I'd like to see some direct questions on Mounie and VLP though.

I was surprised as to how kind they were in general about Saturdays performance. Even Glennon was not critical. A 'well earned point' was the overriding opinion.

I've never particularly rated him as a commentator or interviewer.

When he started with "thank you for that performance" you knew the interview was going to be pointless. But equally, (having listened to the post match programme since this thread started.) is obvious that Oggy and Glennon thought the performance was above average and a good result. So he's not going to start the interview asking was that all about is he? Is bad enough people having an agenda against JS & PH despite the facts. But now it's stated on Oggy, who until two games ago the common perception on here was that he was a great guy and better than the biased, myopic pope that dies Leeds.

Comes across as a top man does oggy, Huddersfield town through and through. What's not to love?

People can muddy the waters as much as they wish, we were poor for the last 40 minutes, not the whole game.

Pretty much every post match tv interview, last one was post Derby with sky. Yes I remember that one. Gary Rowett had this to say....Note the word ...Normal. Asked if Siewert had seemed prickly in his response to a question about not creating or taking enough chances, Rowett offered this explanation. "You have to remember that since he took over they (Town) have won only one match," said Rowett. "Although it's a different division it's the start to the year and he will know he has to win games quickly, like any manager does. "So I think there is a little bit of pressure and disquiet, if you like, in his interview but that's normal."
