Unfortunately, toxic fans results in toxic club, where the day to day operation becomes impossible. I can’t remember it happening on this scale before. Very sad. The start of the 00/01 season was like this. But Brucey hung on until early October. Bruce had just missed the playoffs last game of the season before and the chairman was blamed for that failure because of the Stewart sale. If he has gone attention will shift even more to the lack of investment. I have been a critic of Jan since not long after he arrived due to lack of any sort of organised system but he should have been given more money this summer to rebuild. The summer recruitment showed last night they are not good enough for a second year.

You know, I was on the side of the fence that said, Jan, I don't think this job is for you. These players have not taken to you, and I doubt they ever will. Perhaps you should be calling it a day now. However, because of the moronic personal abuse he has been taking just recently, I now find myself hoping that he stays - at least until Christmas.

Brown sauce on any meaty item is fine. Those who put it on eggs are probably the same who think mushrooms in a sandwich is acceptable. I bet Jan has egg and mushroom sandwiches with HP Sauce.

Its over for Jan, he's a talented guy I'm sure and will be rewarded handsomely for failure, as will Colin Bell but there's no way back. It was crystal clear from the outset he wasn't cut out for the job, its a miracle and testament to the clubs naivety and stubbornness he's lasted this long.
Jan will be just fine, he has a few ready made excuses for failure and it probably wont even harm his career that much, his bank balance will certainly be better off. Quicker the club acts the better for all concerned.

i think we should give him more time.whatever your feelings on fri lets totally get behind the team and all the staff if where unhappy wait full time we all fail and succede together.where team totally devoid confidence and we sll know few wins no matter how we get them changes peoples perspectives utt Unfortunately, toxic fans results in toxic club, where the day to day operation becomes impossible. And a toxic club results in toxic fans.
We've just come out of one of the worst seasons in Prem League/Town history. And there is zero sign of any improvement at this lower level. As the owners shuffle their millions around, and the players bank theirs, the fans are expected to keep turning out, and handing over their hard-earned cash.
No wonder so many are pissed off.

You mean playing at a level that the club have not played at for nigh on 50yrs and decided to use the opportunity to build a stable top club for the foreseeable future? All the shite that's being bandied around at the moment is being bandied around simply because social media allows people the opportunity to vent 24/7 and gain a response almost instantly. It blows out of all proportion the mood at the time (negatively or positively) far quicker than older media channels that were available pre-internet. We've had much worse periods in the history of the club, but none of which were made to look this bad because of the 24/7 nature of our online lives today... People pay their hard earned by choice, but they must know they're paying for a product up-front that has no guarantee that it will make them feel it's been worth the money. It's more the emotive side of Sport that makes people react the way they do.

I don’t know what to think because i don’t know the answer to loads of questions. Who’s idea was it to stop picking Billing and knock 10 million off his value? Who decided to play Hamer? Who decided to not play VLP? Who sold Mooy and decided we dint need a replacement creative midfielder? Why did the Barnsley assistant leave? Who sold Lowe for fuck all? Who said non league players could play in the Championship? Who said a girls coach would get respect? Who ensured Zanka was worth fuck all? Why can’t we admit Mbenza was actually bought last summer? I have loads more on top.
If Jan made all these decisions he can fuck off. I suspect he didn’t.

Good post this .... like the fact that Jan ‘ may’ have had his services severed and also the food references are excellent.
Red on bacon/ brown on sausage .... great debate that and something I actually think should be debated in parliament and written into statute.
Finally .... I have never known anyone who has buttered a tea cake, added hot chips and then added brown sauce.... just no.
Cheers.... UTT.

He basically pinned all the blame for last night on the players, some of whom were young lads making their competitive debuts for the club. None of it was his fault apparently...
I've lost all respect for him as a result.

I've lost all respect for him as a result. It isn't the first time either He is always leaving them out to dry whenever there is a terrible performance. He needs to take the responsibility. As for his comments about expectations - we're estimated to have the 3rd most expensive team in the league, of course people expect good things. I expected a top 10 finish - also, a lot more grit and fight compared to last year - and we haven't got that.

When I look back at the whole Jan Saga I do feel bad for the guy, but he’s pretty much alienated himself. Ultimately the buck stops with him and the results aren’t good enough.
I wanted to like the bloke, I have tried, but he makes it hard work. When he first came to the club he was quick to criticise the players. Going mental, shouting and pointing at individuals who he felt at fault every time a goal went against us.
He lorded it up when Town won the only game so far in his tenure. Basically ran up and down the touch line like a lunatic as if he’d just score the winner in the World Cup final. Part of me loved that, but if he’s wanting to take the glory, he must accept the criticism. In his previous few interviews his arrogance is alarming.
I think everyone who chastised Phil Billing should look back at the comments he made and judge them now. Ok maybe it wasn’t the most professional thing to come out and say, but every word appears true and despite not playing since those comments he went on to win the players player of the year.
Ultimately backing Jan at that moment cost us 3 quality players in Lössl, Zanka and Billing. All were frozen out of the team. As has been said before, not playing both Billing, Zanka and the stance we took has probably cost the club to the tune of £10m. All our better players had switched off, it’s no wonder Smith and Lowe wanted out. Aaron Mooy looked a shadow of his former self, probably only signed that contract because he knew Jan wouldn’t be anywhere near the club and has no intention of returning anyway. .
Look at the body language towards Jan from the senior players, it’s only the young bucks who seem to be buying into what he’s selling, and even that’s half hearted.
I could list the decisions that made me question the guys validity to manage at this level, the one that stands out for me was bringing Danny Williams on for the final 5 seconds against Spurs after they had just scored their 4th. Ironically his final appearance in a Town shirt. Even with his injury record, I’d take him back at the drop of a hat, much better than anything we currently have.
The RVP thing stinks, has a full pre season, as has everybody else, but not being played due to a lack of first team football at Middlesbrough 4 months ago.
For me we need to clear the decks, that includes Hudson. Let’s have a fresh start, new chairman, new coaches, new manager and new ethos at the club.
We won the lottery in finding David Wagner, let’s use the foundation that the club now stands on and build something rather than hope that lightening strikes twice.
