Not too long ago that I was there to see Town scrape a 2-2 draw, but I’ve just read that Boston United are moving out of their ground at the end of this season.

Watched them in 4 divisions and have to say some of the best days out were in the old bleaker days, a win has the same feeling whatever division it is in.
Give me winning in the lower reaches to losing week in week out in the higher ones every time, the standard is secondary to that winning feeling

Past a cricket pitch wasn't it similar to Fartown? was it Bob Newton? that turned up in a lime green 3 piece suit one time up there! My first away trip was Darlington 1975 I think, me and lad next door. 14 years old, Brutus Jeans and DM's, on each wrist. We'd cut a white bed sheet in half, wrote loads of Town shit on them and tied them round our necks, like a cape. Must have looked right twats but strutted around Darlington like we owned the place. Yes, if I remember right you paid at turnstile, then walked around the cricket pitch to the football ground. Typical of the day, was quite a bit of bother. The 'big lads' at the time to us Ainley, Irish etc. introducing themselves to the locals. 45 years later and away days are still the best days. Never let the shit football spoil a good day out, just like last Saturday at QPR. UTT

UTT Bloody hell Brutus Jeans! mine had massive flares and about 6 inch too long to go over my platforms!!. like you say in those days trouble was never far away wherever you went and with platforms on I couldn't run! great days though, pre mortgage, pre wife, pre kids all your money was your own to spend on beer!
