I have mixed feelings about the Cowleys. I think they would be the best option to sort us out but I can't help thinking we would be a stepping stone. If they do join Town and do OK with us they would probably have a fairly short stay, there are plenty of bigger clubs who would be watching. Would we be better with a longer term option who although may not have the zing they do would move us forward by degrees. I have got to the stage where stability and a decent manager would be OK by me. Doesn't really make any difference, any manager that is successful with us, and by that I mean keeping us in this division, will be susceptible to offers. That's how it was with Wagner, even going back to (dare I say this) Lee Clark.

Don't worry, it's not McClaren, my other chain of even more reliable contacts just told me it's Moyes... Two hours of posting about McLaren and now you’re on to Moyes. Wow. Yep, I've got my finger on the pulse, on that thing they used to call the 'Information Super Highway'

Exactly. Not doubting Maynard etc as they're definitely in the know. But neither has he categorically said that it's the Cowleys we've got cameo has stuck his neck out where Maynardblue hasn't. When other clubs are involved and have a game I believe in showing a little respect. Announcement will come in good time

13 minutes injury time at Wycombe! HAVE YOU ENJOYED IT? The best game I’ve seen this season by a long way. I think it’s the main game on Quest tonight. Four goals, two a bit odd, one controversial, big Adebayo hit the bar with a good effort as well, nice ground and nice day.

I honestly think the Cowley choice ain't right, if it happens. Think they have a lot of potential and have done brilliantly so far but it ain't the right fit.
They'll have a load of over paid dossers who've had a season or two in premier league and think they are better than they are to deal with.
And if Harris is announced, my god.

Had a quick look at their forum and there's very little talk of this - don't think they quite realise they are now managerless...

I think it will be a great appointment if true and I’ll unreservedly apologise to Phil for saying he should have appointed Adkins weeks ago instead of chasing after managers in work! I’m still thinking it’s too good to be true.

They’ll have got bricklayers, butchers and window gutters sorted out to get up into the league. And push on twice. Clearly have some man management about them. And with them being PH’s choice (if they do come!!) they’ll get time and financial backing to make it right.

I think the Cowley's are a fantastic success if we do get him. I know Hughton and similar experienced managers would have been a good call but I would have always preferred Cowley. I think he will have a clear plan to first stabilise us and then drive us upwards. Fingers crossed it goes through.

Adkins we havnt approached apparently and Hughton didn't apply. Pulis plays boring as football. Just feel we need experience in this division to steady is up a bit.

Danny worked the fourth official. They definitely work as a team and also talked with Jamie McCombe a lot. Maybe that’s why they conceded three!

Nice for someone to respond in a normal, educated manner. I agree that experience could be needed to just stop the rot but none of the above excite me, Cowley would add a bit of character and he is used to winning, albeit at a lower level. Either way we need someone ASAP to push on and get us out of this current situation.

Whoever it is they must be aware that it will be tough at least till X Mass with a few of the team still hung over from last year and the disappoint of not being wanted by others in the Summer. There shouldn't be any great surprises and clearly a plan and some figures have been put to them so they can work with it. They have stepped up quickly and consistently to date. Let's see how they go, if indeed they are appointed.

So from the top, 53%, 49%, and 45% win percentage equals 49% win percentage overall. Anybody any idea who was the last Town manager to reach those figures?

Would you mind expanding? With the above record comes - 5 promotions - 1 EFL trophy when in league 2 - All 3 clubs to the furthest they’d ever been in the FA cup - Concord / Braintree to their highest ever league positions & not done badly in 3 years at Lincoln right?
