Absolutely right. That level of off the ball pace, the feet to beat men. Cowleys teaching him to look up. When he gets his end product right I can see him being one of the most effective wingers in this league. Old as the hills but defenders do not like players running at them. They make mistakes, especially in this league.

He is playing with the confidence he needs and starting to realise he can have full backs on toast in this division. At the moment it seems impossible to leave him out and that's a great turnaround for the lad. The best bit of it all is he can still improve a lot more. Frightening.

Have given him lots of stick previously.....and hes deserved it, but credit to the cowleys and him for turning in performances this last week which warrant inclusion in the squad. Long may it continue.

its all about confidence. Hes by far the most exciting player in the squad...now he looks up takes them on gets crosses in..vital cog. Hope the Cowleys work on Mbenza now and we could be worth watching again.

He played tremendously well today. Took players on and especially the bit of skill by the touchline. He had the confidence to flick it over the defender and attack down the flank.
Also. Special mention for Kacha today. He looked overcome when he scored. Hopefully he's rid his demons now....

He scares the shit out of defenders in this league if they can get Mbenza and Mounie playing as well we will be a right force.

Ill be amazed if he doesn;t start on Saturday. Kind of get him being on the bench yesterday as the tactics seemed to be to wear them down with dull, slow, nothingness, then bring on the pace to win it on the counter in the last half hour. But at home and with him on form, hes got to start ahead of kachunga surely v Hull. I hope you are wrong. We need to start with the aim of keeping a clean sheet. Diakhaby will leave us exposed down the flanks where Hull are strong. Keep it tight for 55/60 mins, then bring him on if necessary. If we start with him, we concede and, we haven’t won a game in which we have conceded a goal for over 19 months. I am confused why you continually equate Diakhaby starting with Town conceding - It clearly wasn't the case today and him starting has never directly brought about an opposition goal. At least after today you may stop this baseless conclusion and enjoy our performances without being ready to 'blame' his inclusion in our starting eleven as being a liability, he has seemed an asset whenever playing for Cowley's version of Town.

I am up there with Kachunga's biggest critics..but his reaction after scoring and then the crowd singing the old 'ain't nobody song' and his brought a bit of a lump in the throat.

Diakhaby just needs to believe in him self a bit more IMO. In his pace in particular. theres times when he could knock into acres of space behind the full back and beat him hands down in the sprint for it, but he holds back.
But hes really scaring the shit out of teams now. Best thing is there actually is an end result to what he does. Red cards, pens, goals, assists.. he'll earn a lot if he keeps this form going.
Think having Simpson behind him helps no end. He tends to stay back way more than Flo did and that takes a lot of the defensive responsibility away from Diakhaby, so he can focus on attacking.

Absolutely agree with this. Simpson is an unsung hero. What he does is play it simple but effective. None of that great waste of energy ala Hadergoquickly please. He passes straight to a man, defends with tackles and looks assured on and off the ball. Totally reliable. It has steadied the whole defence and we are at last seeing Schindler back to his best with even Elphick looking calm, reassured and reliable in the air and on the ground. I reckon Simpson has been the turning point for Town this season. Now I am not dreading playing Leeds in December. I am relishing it. UTT!

Not sure how many crosses Diakhaby put in to today, but it was a lot. There weren't too many good ones in there but great to see him going down the outside and actually trying to cross it or pull it back with his right foot. It's lead to two goals in two games now
I heard the interview with Cowley on Radio Leeds before the game where he was commenting on Diakhaby's ability to dribble with the ball with his head up and that there aren't many players who can do it at pace like he can.

On top form like today this guy can rinse any full back in the league and plenty in the league above. So exciting watching an electric winger tearing away from his full back. Has a nice bit of composure to pick a pass in the box as well which is giving us a real threat on the counter.
Clearly a confidence player and he’s getting that confidence now from a very good manager.
There’s plenty more to come as he gets stronger and fitter, his defending was much better today.
Big statement but I think he’s got more potential than any player we’ve had for a long long time. Hopefully the Cowleys can help him realise that potential.

Credit where it’s due. Diakhaby at last, showed why we paid what we did for him. A long time coming but he was sensational today.

Really good team effort. They all worked so hard and finishing was clinical. This is the team I have been waiting to see. Such a good feeling.

extremely rare to have a player with his speed and skill who can look up and pass it to a player like he is finally showing he can

He is responding to good coaching. He did something today that I thought I would never see. Just before he was subbed, he took a ball down in a defensive position with a Hull player virtually in his shorts. He nudged back, tried to turn, took the contact, went down and won the free kick.
Simple almost basic stuff that is slowly been coached into him. Couple this with his current skillset and we might have a real player on our hands.

I not sure what some of us that've always rated him and Mbenza ever saw in them 🤔😁 Even when Diakhaby looked shit, he still gave the impression that he was at least trying, whereas Mbenza gives me the impression of being an idle sod. I fear it will take the Cowleys a little longer to knock him into shape.

Long may it continue. Likewise I’ve been critical but he’s looked really good the last two games - he’s pulling teams out of shape for example yesterday in the second half he took 4 Hull players with him and chipped a pass to chalobah, we should have made the numerical advantage count but didn’t on that occasion. However if AD continues to play like he is expect him to pull more teams out of position which will open up things for his teammates

I’d love to think Diakhaby will be the next great thing at Town, but he won’t. His plus points are: He’s quick He’s quick and... He’s quick. You can bring him on for 25 minutes and he may have some joy against tired and/or slow defenders but he does little defensive work, doesn’t really understand when and where to make runs or offer himself for a 1-2 and doesn’t have very good ball control. Better coaching will make some small gains but you have to pick a lot of that stuff up between the age of 8 - 15. I’m probably going to have to begin the process of eating a portion of my least favourite food.,.humble pie.
