Szmodics is a good little player, I was hoping that Town would take him when he was out of contract last summer. He could thrive under the Cowleys. Johnson is a poor manager, he can't even get a tune out of Paterson. Easy to say from the outside looking in Surely you could say the same about Brown being a good little player and the Cowleys failing to get a tune out of him. We can't really judge with such little information to go off Paterson has a history of success at Championship level prior to Bristol City, Brown doesn't.

Both did well in league 2 but perhaps they're just not good enough for this level rather than it being down to Johnson's alleged poor management

This rumour still seems to have legs despite Maynard poo pooing it. Well according to the BBC, he wasn't in their squad last time as he's got a knee ligament injury

One of the best things about our PL years was not having to play Bristol City, Derby and Middlesborough.

Sammie Szmodics is a good player and if he does come to us he will surprise a few fans. I watched quite a few games for Colchester and everything came through him, he's very direct and can play anywhere across the front 3 I understand from the outside its a tad underwhelming signing a lone player from a team in the same league especially as we have just come down from the prem.

Out of curiosity, given you have seen him play, how would you rate/compare him to Pritchard (as from gossip he might be leaving)?

Bigger, stronger, quicker... although hes not massive, probably similar between Obrien and bacuna. Not as good technically, but more prolific infront of goal. To be honest, we have barely seen Pritchard this year so, comparably he would be a massive improvement to the team. If Pritchard was availiable he would offer an alternative in a physical battle, but Pritchard is the better player when fit and motivated.

Forest bought Joe Lolley from βlittle old Huddersfieldβ for a bag of bibs. Sometimes teams misjudge their own players and they blossom elsewhere. If heβs good enough for the Cowleys, heβs good enough for me.

Johnson is a poor manager?.what a load of tosh you spout He's had a lot more money and a lot more time than Wagner had to get a team promoted from the Championship, and still hasn't managed it.

Think the Bristol manager has done ok .

Just because Wagner was exceptional with us doesn't make those that don't have similar success poor managers. Unless of course you don't believe Wagner was exceptional. It irks me when those sort of comparisons are made.
