More inconsistency from the EFL. Presumably, unlike the Wendies, Macclesfield don't have the brass for a legal challenge in the courts.

The Sheff Weds situation is murky to say the least

Wednesday get points deducted last week which will be taken off next season, Macclesfield get points deducted today which apply to last season. I thought the cut off point for the transfer of the "golden share" was last week so if it was surely we have moved on.

The EFL wanted the deduction applying this year, but because they also chased a deception charge the proceedings were extended so it got delayed.
But the commission also gave this as a reason:
Someone tell Tranmere, relegated on PPG, that they should appeal because they didn't have the same opportunity.

Football is bent beyond recognition and repair it has been for many years! What the chuffing hell is an independent panel? They can just say it was “their” decision? Why is it not disclosed who they were and how they came to that decision? Don’t get me started on citeh football is finished but the upsetting thing is it’s in my DNA well town is any road. Anything other then town or some engerland games and I couldn’t care two hoots. But that is a royal piss take along with the sheep shaggers

No, but Wigan didn't have someone decide to save them from relegation this season by passing their punishment onto next year

No, but Wigan didn't have someone decide to save them from relegation this season by passing their punishment onto next year It ought to be like appealing red cards. If it is thought that lodging the appeal is "frivolous" and/or aimed at using appeal time to reduce it's impact, then certainly the punishment should be increased.

It has become clear that the size of the club (and therefore how much can be spent on a lawyer) has a massive impact on these cases. Given the number of cases that are now taking place I am sure that the clubs involved can afford much better lawyers than the EFL can, all I would say that as I understand it Wednesday got the max points deduction so if their appeal is unsuccessful they cannot be deducted more.
