Surely the club now needs to consider an iFollow only season pass. It seems absolutely mental that if I lived abroad I could watch home and away league games for £140, but those of us in the UK are expected to pay nearly double that for just over half the games. Plenty of folk either won't be able to attend due to being vulnerable even if limited numbers do get allowed in, or won't feel comfortable going somewhere with a few thousand other people around. Yet the club expects them to pay nearly double what fans abroad can pay PLUS £10 for each weekend away game, or they don't pay at all but get punished with inevitable price rises over the next three years. There needs to be a middle ground and it baffles me that the club haven't offered one. All or nothing isn't the right approach when the club needs as much income as it can get. What would you suggest? I’m sure they’d love to give season ticket holders the away games as well but it’s not their product to give away. The suggestion is in the first paragraph. This should be available from ifollow directly just as it to overseas fans - because we are all in the same boat at the moment with no one allowed to attend. However the clubs would not be in favour of such a product because it would affect their own season ticket income. OP is correct though in that season ticket holders are paying vastly over the odds for a more comprehensive product that is available (via a VPN) at £100 less.

The problem is Sky have the domestic TV deal, which is worth quite a bit to each club. As I understand it Sky are not currently reducing any payments to ELF clubs, but still allowing the iFollow deal for £10 per game with discounts for season ticket holders. The relative costs of domestic and overseas iFollow payments relates to the differences between domestic and international TV deals. The EFL clubs need to be careful they don't screw up a large source of income for the longer term. I realise at the moment the issue is to make sure the clubs all survive for the longer term as well!.

Exactly this, a discounted pass that gives us access to home games plus the 7 away games but doesn't get inclusion in the ballot for the games that might be played with a limited crowd. When the current ST offer was announced there was an initial expectation that a reduced number of fans would be allowed for a maximum of 21 home games. It wouldn't have been hard for the club to offer two options: 1) Full price season ticket (£249) including an iFollow pass that includes all home league games, 7 midweek league away games + possibility of attending up to 21 home games via a ballot (dependant on number of season ticket holders). 2) Reduced price iFollow only season pass for all home games & 7 midweek away games. No access to the ballot included. Fans then get the choice of paying extra for the possibility of attending at their own risk PLUS the club can charge extra for people to go into the ballot if there are seats available. I don't get why it's so hard. The club could make more money from it, it doesn't affect the sky deal because Sky have already agreed to all home games being streamed and DTS clearly stated here that it's up to clubs how they give their fans access this season - downatthemac.proboards.com/post/2722857/thread

Are refunds available? do we suspect they might be?
My opinion now is that no-one will be allowed to watch until Easter. Where will that leave the majority of smaller clubs?
I've always had a season ticket and view it as a bit of a donation to the club, I can afford it and will utilise it as i see fit. Ironically i only usually miss home games for holidays, but i don't like that fact that i now have no option to attend and i have better stuff to do an a Saturday than watch it on a shit video stream. The pub and the banter are a big part of physically attending.
I've had the virus and have worked all through lockdown in my own business. The government and business leaders need to decide when things are going to get back to normal. Shield the vulnerable and crack on, let me in to the football if I want.
I had more chance of dying going over the handlebars of my mountain bike last Thursday night.

Bumped into someone I know at work, she's been a Forest SC holders for years along with her husband. Also go to a lot of their away matches each season. Forest want £480 each this time and are looking at a similar ballot system that town have talked about. Apparently they've also been told they could be losing their seats if they don't renew. They are seriously thinking of opting out this season for the first time in a very long time.

They have thought long and hard about it, leaving it until the last minute and reluctantly decided due to their age, and underlying health conditions, IF we can get back into the ground in any way, shape or form, they honestly would not feel totally comfortable. Quoting my Dad, “We didn’t stay cooped up for nigh on 6 months, to risk ourselves watching a game of football”. They telephoned the ticket office this morning, and was told Sue would telephone them back as she was the only person that is authorised to sort refunds. They are gutted they have had to make this decision, after having season cards for donkeys years. They can see how a one way system could work. They can see how rows of seats can be allocated, they just can’t see how you stop people from needing the loo and having to walk past you, no matter what system is put in place. My Dads right in saying “there’s times when you’re having to stand up, and sit down, up and down. Some must have bladders the size of a thimble.” When you have to go, you have to go and there’s no way of stopping that. You can’t avoid someone passing very close to you.

Spoke with my kid brother yesterday, he has very reluctantly been in touch with the club and got himself a refund. My son and I never renewed in the first place. I don’t remember a time in our family where someone didn’t have a season ticket (card) at Huddersfield Town, our support goes back to the 1950’s and spans 3 generations. Damned shame.

There will be no need for a ballot at Town when fans are allowed back in the stadium all these complaining so called supporters that won’t be turning up Maybe the club could ask the forums admin to supply names of all the moaners and whinging gits so they don’t get a chance to get a place at the stadium UTT

Not sure if it’s been mentioned already but Maynard said it was going to be a busy week. Can’t help thinking that the renewal date was extended with that in mind. Fingers crossed for getting some deals over the line if so.

The way the Government are changing the rules at the moment no one has any idea when we will be back at the JSS. Test events are being cancelled, those that are still going ahead have had their capacities either withdrawn or now an arbitary 1,000. Yes it will be hard to steward a situation where people are passing each other, going to the toilet but pubs that only have one door to the toilet, and this being a solid door so you cannot see who is in are ok to keep open. Does not make sense.

Am I right in thinking of I buy my son a season ticket for a reduced price he will still have a free ifollow pass? I seem to think that it said somewhere that, although under 18's can have a code (which has to be linked to an adult's email address), if you'd bought an adult and junior season ticket you couldn't get a refund on the adult ticket and keep the code for the junior one. I take this to mean that you can't just buy a junior one, although if you have an adult and junior one you'd each get a code. Sorry, can't find where I'd seen it.

Everything is arbitrary, just like groups of 30 or 6, or 2 metre distancing. May be to do with keeping numbers of first aid, policing, stewarding etc staffs down ? (although to be honest I'd imagine those numbers would be pretty similar at Town for a crowd of 1000 compared to a crowd of 20,000, assuming all stands are opened).
