Looks like a very fair and balanced reply to me. If people don't want to renew or request a refund then they loose the potential price freeze. If they are prepared to "roll over" they still keep their seat and price freeze. It does sound very fair, not sure if they are obliged to do it but if not it’s a generous offer. I renewed knowing I’d be unlikely to see many games but thinking I’d get value from watching all the available games on ifollow whilst also supporting the club. Thing is I’m just not prepared to waste my time and increase my blood pressure watching town getting pumped week in, week out. Unless we make some astute signings before the window closes we’re screwed and will be relegated. Hoping I can wait for the deadline and cancel then if no movement, otherwise it’s 250 down the drain and more importantly showing support of something I am absolutely not supportive of. The freeze won’t affect me anyway as if we hit league one again through this self inflicted mess then that’s me done. Does anyone know if there’s a time limit on getting the refund? I’m sure the club are grateful of your non support, thick and thin comes to mind, sure Wigan would be grateful, pumped weekin and week out , think you’re exaggerating that one.Never mind when the club , probably along with others you will be able to find another one that is run along the lines of your expectations. So, basically you want the club to spend millions before you'll graciously let them keep the astronomically large amount of £249 that you've already paid? As captainjack put it in his excellent post, it's all about supporting the club by trying to help them through this once in a 100 year event. FFS, it's £4.79 a week for a year.

Amazing how we seem to go through statements of unconditional fandom of >>
"I'd support even if Town were relegated all the way down to the Conference" "nearly 20,000 season ticket holders in the EPL watching with a general expectation to get relegated"
and yet now there's a growing sense of >>
"I can't be arsed watching us get pumped every couple of weeks" (in the Championship).
Maybe this extended period away from live football has made people realise its not the be all and end all unbreakable love that they thought...and THAT is going to be the challenge for Phil and any future owner. If you go regular its quite difficult to break away (once you've got a season ticket you tend to renew), but once you've broken away (either by choice or enforced like has happened) then it becomes a bigger decision to bother to return or not.

Got this back from Sue Beaumont today: "Thank you for your email and I confirm we can arrange a refund back to the original method of payment – the seats will then be re-offered for purchase either as a half season card should these become available or as a season card for the 2021/22 season. On this basis the Chairman’s year price freeze would not apply. Alternatively if you wish to defer your payment the seats would remain held and complimentary tickets issued for next season with the price freeze remaining for the next 2 years. On the issue of iFollow we do sincerely apologise for the poor service that has been experienced and we are hopeful that following pressure from clubs there will be a marked improvement going forward. In addition following the announcement of the delay to Live football the Board are currently looking at added value that can be offered to season card holders." I didn't realise this was an option basically paying a frozen price for next season in advance.

People who truly support a club would never turn their backs on them so I think your point is only relevant for so called fans who only turn up when the going is good.

I'll pay as I go on iFollow and will buy a ticket next season whatever division we're in, as I always will when grounds are actually open. I think this season is unique so people can do what they want.

I personally am not missing live football at all, or even football on TV. The last two seasons have produced almost zero entertainment, losing nearly every week, awful football, lack of goals etc. Maybe this is clouding the judgement slightly, and fans whose teams have been doing well are maybe missing it more? I had already made the decision last season that I wasnt going to renew again, even if fans had been allowed back etc, and it was a tough call after having a season ticket for 20 years. I decided that I would rather spend the money for 4 tickets on another holiday, and spend Saturdays playing in my clubs golf competitions/medals. I am still spending time with friends, but its far healthier, its more entertaining, and I listen to the match on the wireless on the way home or when I get home. As you say, football is not the be all and end all of everything, and if you are not enjoying it and you dont agree with everything thats going on, then the extended break will really hit that point home for a lot of fans.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way regarding this.
As previously mentioned, I live in Lincoln so I hear a lot about what’s going on there, and a lot of their fans have opted not to get a refund as they want to have their seat guaranteed for when football does get back to normal.
This is because they are able to have 8,000 ST holders and currently have 7,500, so demand is high and whenever they are able to promote fans paying on the gate, the tickets go within minutes. Of the 7,500 ST holders, less than 150 opted for a refund.
However, I don’t think we, at Town, have that problem. Ultimately, whether you get a refund or not, your seat is absolutely safe and secure. There’s just simply not enough demand.
For what it’s worth, I decided I wouldn’t get a refund as I’m happy for the Club to have the money whilst I can afford to not have it.
However, as I mentioned at the start of this post, there’s no right or wrong way, it’s just whatever you can or can’t afford in this current climate. Your seat is unharmed regardless.

I wasn’t of course wishing to deride people if they have issues caused by the current climate. I’ve been affected too like many others.

A lot of that 11,000 were bought early when this pandemic (and its effects) were not as indoctrinated in all our souls. I'm a fan who most certainly hasn't turned up only when the going is good over the past 40 odd years. I've put up with some right shite over the years, and I've spent untold hours helping to preserve the club's future. Perhaps I don't truly support our club as you state. Maybe you're a better fan than me, or even a better person. But I haven't renewed this year. i thought about it. I ummed and arghed. But in the end, the common sense approach FOR ME was to keep my money and take my chances in the subsequent years. Football is not the be all and end all in my life - certainly it's much less than it has been - the promotion from the Championship was immense and will not be topped in my lifetime - but the subsequent 'experience' in the Premier League was appalling - it's killed our club and given many fans some perceived entitlement that our club should spend vast amounts of money on mercenary players. They seem unable to accept that being in the top 40 clubs in the country is no longer sufficient. The this Covid situation occurred and we are expected to enjoy games played like training matches or pre-season friendlies. It's pitiful, soulless, but necessary to try and see the game tick over. Fair enough, but it's not for me. Hopefully common sense can return at some point to the fans mindsets, to the footballing authorities who can find a way to salvage football, and that we can all survive Covid and its effects - physically, mentally, and financially.

I think this is the nightmare scenario covid19 is throwing up for certain industries, the lack of knowing for customers your paying for something you possibly won’t get to use. The travel industry is similar, hotel bookings , weddings , large celebrations at venues like birthdays . People are going to leave money in their back pockets and pay for things at short notice. Football season tickets if this continues for a long period could become non existent.

Last 2 posts spot on. Fans will (and have) paid much higher prices to see lower league football than Championship standard. Why? Because we could to games, but also because we knew that the club didn't really have much brass so the ST sales were important to them.
Over the last few seasons the club has had more money come into it than it it probably has had since it was formed and now the club is crying the poor tale, pulling on heart strings, and blackmailing fans into buying a ST this season with the threat of increasing prices if you don't.
The club should and could have has itself set for life with the money that came in, but due to total mismanagement its wasted it all and we are back to seemingly being skint again.
Notice I've used the term 'the club' throughout the post. No matter who in charge, or who is behind the scenes, the club is always the club. They can't expect fans to reset opinions and forget stuff that has gone on just because a new man is at the top.
PH has a difficult job in turing the sinking ship around, but so far all he is doing (IMO) is speeding towards the iceberg at an ever increasing speed.

The PL has been and gone but the money shouldn’t have we are still receiving parachute payments . My family have several ST and I won’t be asking for a refund, but anyone who’s financially looking over their shoulder you can’t blame them the old leader set a pretty bad example of looking after himself .

I figured I’d probably watch about 25 games on the iFollow, so it would work out about the same. The freeze was a factor too, so renewed my kids’ as well.

I know I shall watch all the home games and some away games. Probably work out at less than a tenner a game. Will be very close. Hopefully Town will get more of my £249 by me having a season ticket rather than spending a tenner match by match on I-follow. (No criticism of anyone else's decision) {Except the mealy mouthed c***ts pretending. Those who would never have a season ticket anyway. You know who you are}

Hoyle, Jarvis, Wagner, Jan, anyone else on the board of directors. CEOs, heads of recruitment, the recruitment team. Phil, Cowleys. The whole lot of them. Its disgraceful the position we are in now from where we were at the start of that second Premier League season.

In theory you are correct, but the sad fact is most of that PL money went to players wages/bonuses and on transfers..we didn't actually make that much, and yes we have parachute money but DH has taken £50m of that leaving us with a small nestegg which PH is sensibly keeping to one side because of what's happened with Covid. I'd say at the moment Towns income nowhere covers the current wage bill...this is the reality. It's annoying, I'm angry like anyone else at the utter mess we've made, but that's where we are..For that reason though I'm leaving my £249 with the club...it's a small gesture in the whole scheme of things, but it's my team amd has been for 60 years.

Case in point with Karlon Grant, a CURRENT Premier League team's cash flow situation is that they can't even afford the going rate for a half-decent Championship goal scorer at the moment. There isn't much wiggle room even with the tens and hundreds of millions sloshing around the top of the game. Clubs are struggling, and are likely to struggle more with now only a remote likelihood of getting any (limited) match day income before next March. The League 1 and 2 clubs gave up playing last season because it wasn't financially sustainable for a month and a half or so - whilst they're pressing on at the moment, surely they're going to have to do the same again if there's no real change before Christmas? Championship must be at risk beyond that.

Was he looking at Pritchard 🙏🤞. My only thought was that we are about to borrow one or two players from Leeds and he wanted to watch the overall team pattern to see how it works - surely anything else could have been done by watching TV or borrowing Town's video of the match.
