www.sky.com/shop/covid19-customer-update?irct=CHP-tile#section-12While we expect that many of the recently postponed sports events will eventually go ahead, if you wish to pause your sports subscription in the meantime you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period. Meanwhile we continue to provide high quality content across all of our 11 sports channels. We are sorry that you are currently unable to pause your Sky Sports subscription online, however, in light of the circumstances we are working hard to introduce this in the coming days. Please check back online from Friday. In the meantime, please be aware that we have reduced resource in our call centre and we apologise if you are unable to get through to us on the phone.

Thing that annoys me about this, is the fact that Sky don't even need to say that you can request this. Their billing systems will be more than able to remove the Sports portion from your monthly billing and just advise you they'd done so.
They'd get far more credit for doing that and probably more renewals, but instead they ask if you 'wish' for it to be suspended...
Mmmmmm, let me think about that for a minute...

Cancelled sports with virgin.. Took 15 minutes to get through, which is 10 minutes quicker than when reporting a problem a month ago? Spoke to 'Ricky' in the call centre..๐๐๐๐

Cancel it, youโll be inundated with offers, better than youโre paying now, as they try to lure you back

I called them up a couple of days ago to cancel my Sports package, I had to give 31 days notice paying at the full rate till the 31 days was up, even though there is no sport anymore. Absolute tossers. I told them they should have a pause option, then a day later they announce a pause option. I should be on commission.
So now when I try to pause my subscription, it says there's a technical issue and to try again later. I would love to cancel the whole thing altogether but frankly there isn't an alternative.

I could have phrased it better - should have said that they could remove it from the billing until such a point they had live content to broadcast.

Full reruns of good games might be nice but I fear that most will be from just the last few years. It'd be nice to see a classic game from say 1998 or something instead (this applies to both the PL and EFL)

Id wouldn;t be surprised that if they showed old MOTDs from the 70s on a saturday night it wouldn;'t attract bigger viewing figures than they normally get. Id certainly be far more inclined to watch it.

Watched a load of goals from the 70s the other day, a whole hours worth.. Looking at the old grounds and the crowds etc is a joy.
Some of the fouls are eye watering ...
One of mine watched the full Leeds v Chelsea cup final replay and he had to ring me and discuss it!!!!๐๐๐
Told him he had never lived!! And then advised he watched the leeds v liverpool charity shield and then any of the leeds v derby county games from the 70s..
Is there a common denominator here???๐๐๐

Always liked watching Ian Hutchisonโs long throws.

Be prepared for lots of reruns, the broadcasters might be down to skeleton staff when the peak really hits.

Pubs and Clubs subscriptions to Sky Sports being waived from March 14th or something like that. Without having to contact them. Haven't really read the letter properly to be honest.

He did indeed. We even scored a goal from 1 of his long throws back in something like 1996, away at Barnsley. Looked like nobody touched the ball before it went in (so shouldn't have counted) but the ref said it did nick someone, so the goal stood. We lost though.

You know when you pause in this case you stop paying but still receive the channels? You have 2 options as far as I can see. 1. Pause it, don't pay, still get the channels. 2. Don't pause it, pay, get the channels. Let me think about that for a minute.... From a PR perspective they should really just pause it for everyone. I suspect they are letting people keep the channels if they pause because most people once it all resumes will realise they can probably live without it and end up cancelling it altogether.

I eventually got through to the bit with the 'pause my sky sports' button,,, clicked on that,, then just went back to the endless spinning circle thing. Would expect some kind of confirmation screen. So not sure whether it worked or not now.
Baring in mind EVERYONE will want to do this as you still get the channels anyway, would it not be easier to just take it off everyones bills at their end?

Got mine paused online, just a bit slow processing but done easy enough. Just checked and can still view all the sports channels.

Good. You got the impression they were just a golfing and drinking club. Hardly cutting edge analysis.
