I didn't know, I try to ignore the blue side of Glasgow 😉 Edit : just looked, yes, he came on in an underrated Town midfield double change. Him and Scotty Arfield. Don’t think either of them were underrated for Town, more underwhelming Underperforming. Under the acceptable levels of commitment might also apply

If Rangers sell him in the future and we get £2m million plus that will be a bonus!

Don't know if this is mentioned in any of the other threads. But just reading Gary Keown's column in last Sunday's Mail on Sunday about Rangers and it says the following about Rangers transfer dealings this summer " With Juninho Bacuna arriving on a deal that Huddersfield insist involved no cash up front" There'll be incentives and a sell on clause. Far better than letting him go for nothing on a Bosman. The club did well here. You reckon?! How often do Rangers manage to sell a player for any kind of fee at all? He's on a 2 year contract. Its surely far more likely that he'll simply stay with them for 2 years and then walk away for free hoping to find his 'final' football deal, than he sold for any kind of fee that would result in us gaining back more than we paid in his wages and costs since we took up the extra year option etc.

What we DID assumedly do is pay him his signing fee (or 'commitment fee' or whatever its called nowadays), which could easily be somewhere between £50k & £200k, and what we DID assumedly do his pay him his salary from June through to August (£100k?). Not sure if a notice clause would have had to be paid to terminate his 1 year deal, that could be another £100k if so....and we've currently got nothing in return. If he'd simply left on a free and we hadn't taken the option, we'd have still got nothing, but we wouldn't have burned all that cash that we did by taking up the option. It still seems like a huge risk to the club to me. Unless of course, they're not bothered about losing the odd couple of hundred k here and there, JUST IN CASE we hit the jackpot and it turns into a healthy return, however unlikely that is....and if THIS is the case, it probably means the club is in a decent state financially, otherwise the cheapest least risky option would have been to just free him and Mbenza end of last season.

He came on for the last 20 mins of the cup game on Wednesday for his debut. I think he's made 2 sub appearances so far. 1 league, 1 cup. That'll teach me to trust Wikipedia 😁🤦🏻♂️

@htafc4steve are you suggesting we didn’t pay him and then when he went to join Glasgow we just cancelled his Town contract without any financial consideration/encouragement to him?
Or are you saying if we’d released him we’d still have had to pay his wages?
Or are you just an argumentative sod for the hell of it, which of course is your right…no harm done posting a few words.
There is undoubted risk with the whole Bacuna situation that the club never gets a return on the money and time it’s wasted on extending his contract. And that risk remains, it’s been confirmed by both clubs there’s nothing up front, to suggest the pay back is structured so we’re guaranteed to recoup what we need for it to be profitable is ludicrous. He might not play 10 games, or 25 games or whatever the triggers are over the duration of his 2 year contract. They likely won’t sell him for a fee.

I remember Arfield coming out with a statement when he was at Burnley, he said "I did not try hard enough at Huddersfield", so who's fault was that, the player, the manager or both.

Superb is stretching it a bit I don't think it was. He was exciting and was our best player in that time - hence getting the President's award. To say he was superb for any period longer than a match in his time with us is most definitely stretching it. Our results and performances weren't that great that season and he scored once in about the last 5 months of that season plus a couple of assists, not exactly superb from a winger. He also got subbed 15 times in 25 starts. I loved Phil Starbuck but it's like me saying he was incredible in his time here because he used to score a worldy now and again.

He wasn't a sicknote as such but had a hard time adapting to the training demands of pro football even before Wagner came- going from deep in non league to championship in a short period of time wrecked his match fitness for more or less his whole spell with us. the extent to which he helped himself in that regard I don't know. He was a great impact sub but was often blowing out of his arse by the second half when he started. He won the president's prize that season because it was during the 2-3 season spell where there was a total dearth of young players getting into the first team.

According to BBC Sport...." Glen Kamara was booed by home fans as 10-man Rangers were left bottom of group A with defeat away to Sparta Prague in the Europa League. The Finn, who was racially abused six months ago by Ondrej Kudela of Sparta's rivals Slavia Prague, was singled out during the tie prior to his second yellow card on 74 minutes. Sparta already led 1-0 at that point after David Hancko's first-half header, but Rangers struggled to impose themselves in their second group loss in a row. Racism was a depressing backdrop to this game. The match was played in front of 10,000 children after Uefa relented on a stadium closure following racist chanting by Sparta fans towards Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni. Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said before the game he had "no apprehension" about the tie and had been assured "everything is going to be fine." Despite that, the Finn was still booed by the young crowd. "
