I’d like to think our club have something better up their sleeve than Mowatt. We don’t need another a slow midfielder who hasn’t even been a consistent performer for Barnsley; I’d like to think Carlos will base his team around mobility to play this ‘high brand of pressing football’ that Bielsa is renowned for. Genuine question, who do we currently have as a seasoned pro who fits the pressing and passing style? Can only think of O'Brien and Toffolo. Everyone else is either slow, lacking intensity or poor with the ball at their feet. We probably need 8-10 players to make this work. I think good coaching helps, look at the players Wagner had playing that way successfully, basically every one of them. Same with Leeds, same journeyman players suddenly turned into top championship performers with seemingly more stamina, skill and fitness than ever before. Hogg is a good example, can look poor at times but put him in the right team and he's superb. I think we have a reasonable base of a squad but quality additions certainly required, particularly in attacking positions. We haven't had a decent winger since Ince (yes Ince!) and VLP left.

Have to admit I'm desperate for us to have more athleticism and dynamism. IMO we've often looked unfit and slow compared to other teams this year.

The frustrating thing is we know a lot of these players aren't slow Grant and Bacuna being prime examples. We lack positive movement with the ball. Only examples I can think of was Diakhaby for 2 or 3 games and Smith-Rowe. We don't move the ball quickly or positively enough.

So you think HTAFC fans are remotely interested in Luton Town offering new contracts to two of their current players? Plank.

He's either leaving Derby because he's too expensive - in which case, should we be trying to outspend Derby? Or he's not good enough in relation to Derby's ambition for 20/21. So, should our ambition be demonstrably less than theirs?

So, should our ambition be demonstrably less than theirs? You're oversimplifying things there. Players excel under different playing styles, with different team mates, whilst the club may also have different priorities due to being stacked in a position, etc. All are reasons why you constantly have players on the move and with varying success at each club.

We've already got Fraizer Campbell under contract at 32 and unlikely to be moving anywhere soon. We younger, more mobile strikers - ideally those who score lots of goals 😂

Needs a real strong indication of his character on a signing like Martin. Are you going to get a Grant Holt/Glenn Murray esque signing or a guy who needs a home for his final payday.

If we going to be more attacking and start players in their natural preferred positions I can see Grant challenging for the golden boot. 4-5 quality signings and I’d put a wager on that.

So, should our ambition be demonstrably less than theirs? I think under the new coach we won’t be going for a big lump of a striker. We’ll have someone mobile who’ll close players down (can see Campbell starting) and press from the front. That’s why Bielsa always stuck with Bamford. Think the idea will be midfielders attackers sharing the goals rather than a 20 goal striker. Would be surprised if Mounie fits into this
