We need a right back so could be true. Would be a good signing with lots of experience.

Is a Nottingham lad and started his career there, so would do well to convince him to come here.

Think the only 2 solid ones are the interest in Charlton keeper Phillips. And then Robbie Gotts on loan. The other one looking likely is the Joe Geldhart, signing for Leeds then coming to us on loan. After reading through threads and articles, these seem ones that have legs. would hope so otherwise how are they going to kick a football? Love that reply hahahah

Still only 28 but will want first team football. Which he is pretty much guaranteed here. I guess it will all come down to wages in the end though.

Anyone else starting to think that a lot of teams are going to be starting next season with a similar, or worse squad? Can't see much going on in terms of transfer activity throughout the league and t is a really quick turnaround. Have we had any solid rumours yet? Could be the case or could just be that a lot of players/managers still on holiday.Id reckon things will start to move more from next week onwards, not ideal as will have already started pre season but all teams seem to be in the same boat.If doesn’t pickup mid to late next week though you could be right. to b honest anyone who thinks our squad will be put together in a couple of weeks or so are not thinking straight. I have no doubt that players will come in before oct 5th and some out. all clubs are in the same boat and I think we have started with quaner kathunga pyke coleman etc all leaving so patience is needed and let them get on with what will be a busy couple of months

Could well be and I think we’d offer a lot of value but Forest’s current right back Cash is highly desired by a host of PL clubs at the moment, so if he goes then it could be very appealing to Freeman. I haven’t seen him play much either but having a look he has always done very well for Sheff Utd but had quite a few injuries and then not got back in consistently due to Baldock performing so well. Interestingly he did score 10 goals as a RB one season!! Not a set piece taker either.. and I thought Smith got forward a lot in the promotion season.

If you look at our current squad now the dust has settled, then remove all of the players who are likely to go back out on loan or be sold - Kongolo, Hadergjonaj, Mbenza, Diakhaby, Sobhi, Reece Brown, Koroma and Grant - what is left is not good enough to survive in the Championship.
We would then need at least 6 players 'oven ready' to play 40+ games per season - G, RB, No 10, 2 widemen who can cross a ball (otherwise we might as well sell Mounie too) and a striker. Getting all 6 right would be a miracle.
Robbie Gotts is certainly not ready to play that number of games, just as Willock and ESR weren't last season. Neither will promising young loans from PL squads be up to that.
I have a bad feeling about 20/21. If we stay out of the relegation fight I will be happy. If we win more games than we lose I will be absolutely delighted.
There is no way we will challenge for the playoffs, any such expectations will be an unreasonable burden on an inexperienced CC who will be trying to learn and manage during a period of huge change.

Most importantly, we need a couple of loan signings who have the quality of ESR. Easier said that done. Talk of him being around the Arsenal first team next year. Pulling two out like that......and the supposed £1m loan fees....

Going to be tough for sure. I would imagine Sheff Weds may not be the only club to start or get deducted the minus 12. Additionally we have to think that the teams coming up may not be in a position to spend too much I’m not suggesting that’s a good thing we might have a chance because of this but it might buy us another season to form this squad and hopefully continue to ship out the high earners.

There are a lot of contracts due to end on 30/06/21. If we are still a Championship team then, we should be well placed for 21/22.

Roofe to Rangers clearing the way for Mbenza to Anderlecht? And, presumably, the walking red card from the Hun to Lille

The signings of Diakhaby and Mbenza deservedly get a lot of stick but Sobhi has to go down as the worst ever. What were we thinking?! He even already played in the premier league and was known to be dreadful, I’d love to know the thinking there.

Tbf with his loan fees and upcoming transfer we've probably at least broken even if not made a profit. That won't happen when we get shut of TK, Diakhaby, Mbenza, Mounie or Pritchard

By all accounts, we've made a profit on Sobhi.

Could be worth looking at someone like Sergi Canos whose at Brentford. Think he’s played pretty much 2nd fiddle to their front 3 this season but has always looked decent when I’ve seen him

Very little in transfer fees and in wages I would guess since PH cant afford to bankroll the club in the way most other Championship club owners do

Would not be surprised if we spent no money and just got free transfers

How much do you think we might spend on transfers ? Would not be surprised if we spent no money and just got free transfers I would be amazed if we spent 1m on any player. Too much talk about the kids and potential for me. Still not sure why they seem so sure when none of those who have played so far have looked championship standard. I am not saying they won't be in time but those we have seen look like they need further development before they are ready. Any such plans we may have for them to be a big part of the 1st team squad would be risky. We need to get some quality through the door... 4 or 5 minimum plus loans.

If we sell Grant for X million it would be ludicrous not to spend a seven figure sum on a replacement.
